I'm still holding out hope that Fox releases the rights so we can finally get the X-Men into the MCU.

And Spidey too.

Yeah, I would love to see Spidey or some X-Men in a MCU movie, but at this rate I'm thinking it would be quite a battle for Marvel to get the rights back from the companies that have them now. I know it's note quite the same, but at least we do seem to be able to get some of those characters together in their animated TV series, and movies.

Fox would never "release" the rights to X-Men. They make too much money for them still and Sony owns Spider-Man.

Yeah, I know Sony owns Spider-Man, although I could see why my post would imply otherwise.

Still, you'd think there would be some kind of deal all the studios could work out to make something like this work.

Money would solve the situation. Marvel had no choice when they went bankrupt in the mid 90's. Fox would want a WHOLE boat load of cash from Disney/Marvel. Unfortunately I don't think this is going to happen. Like I said the mutants are money makers for Fox. Spidey for Sony, etc so until we get major flops I doubt Marvel will get these characters back.

I really was hoping Marvel Studios would get a shot at FF and Daredevil again since they managed to get Punisher back, but no such luck since Fox is rebooting those.
