New Merlin on BBC

If I didn't think this will all be forgotten about next week I'd think things were really starting to kick off now... I hope I'm wrong, I would like to see them start tying it all together.

Yes sometimes you get the feeling that things are a one off episode, but the reason I was able to forgive some of the silly things was because it seems like this is the story the writers have been trying to get too, and it looks like these things will be the thick of things to come. I don't know who he is, but the best eps seem to come from Howard Overman-not the four creators who are worreid about ratings and direction and all that.

Again I say a wise Sir Geoffre, the good Sir Leon, and the meddling Morgause should have been reccurring all along. They don't need the villian of the week format, they need season long storylines and secrets.

Was it me or did they manage to never say Igraine's name this ep? It was always Arthur's mother.

I'm sure I heard her name a couple of times.

Best episode of Merlin ever? (And not just because Ms Fox was in it!)

The scene between Arthur and Uther at the end was just brilliant, especially once Merlin interjected. Just stunning, great acting all round...

Morgause better come back...

Is Morgause meant to be the Lady of the Lake here or is another female set for the final few eps? We still need to see if anyone's going toe get Excalibur out of the lake. There has to be more to this, the hints for Morgana are to much to deny!

The Lady of the Lake was called Nimueh in the 'original' myths, so the series will give her a new name, as a seperate character. i sincerely doubt it's Morgause after this week's episode.

Excalibur is supposed to return this week.

Considering they've gone out of their way to kill many of the guest stars off it would be odd if Morgause didn't return at some point, but I'd agree she's unlikely to be the Lady of the Lake.

Yes they've swapped names like Nimeuh and Valiant for their own tellings so who knows what they have in store for Morgause. Supposedly at the imdb board, Anthony Head has confirmed more of Morgause for series three. Why do they wait for all the serious and heavy good, even great stuff for the latter half of the season? Why do they dawdle and reset the women to attract and really detriment viewers? If Merlin gets its act together for a complete stride from now on, it realyl could go the full 5 seasons as the creators intended.

Do you think they might add to the opening credits by then? It's been the same thus far.

Interesting. I wonder if she'll be Vivian then? If Morgause is of the house of Glorios, taht means Glorios is hers and Morgana's father, so are they playing that Morgause and Arthur are brother and sister? No comments were made about her beauty or romantic trickery. Especially in light of the troll ep-which is so quickly forgotten. Again all these characters should have been semi regular to begin with. No need for every villian of the week and sill cgi creature. Was there any obvious cgi creature last ep? No, and it was perhaps the best yet.

I wish they were more even with their ladies. Teh tossed around Gwen and barely there Morgana thus far are making the four male creators look liek the stereotypical can't write for ladies type. Why do they delay the good stuff?

5 seasons?

When chosing that number, they first said to Collin: How long would it take you to grow a beard for the final episode?

build anticipation.

Morgause and Morgana are half-sisters. Arthur's an only child.

I like the legend of how Uthur raped Morgana's mother to make Arthur because it really explains her passion to destroy the little bastard.

Consider.

If Arthur's mother was barren... Where did the bionic witch get eggs for her from?

More theft than rape, but along the same line.

Magic? ;)

I like this series. I don't know much if anything about the legends, so I'm not waiting for anyone to show up or things to happen. Which means I also can't be disappointed when they take things in a different direction.
It's a fun show and good fantasy shows are far too rare on TV.

That would be interesting. Actually given that w're told it needed a death to allow Arthur to be born, it'd be interesting if that death wasn't Arthur's mother...but rather Morgana's!

Well I didn't bother watching Merlin till today cos I thought it wouldn't be any good. Typical   It naturally turned out to be the best episode they've ever done. Arthur, Uther and Merlin were all spot on this week, Morgause was fantastic, and that dress...
*ahem* sorry, where was I?
