New Matt Smith Interview (short)

Yeah, you can tell he's relaxed a bit since his premiere interview in the Confidential. Actually gotten some sleep now. ;) He seems a bit more grounded and certain. I look forward to seeing what he can do with the role... :techman:

He really does seem to have a good head on his shoulders, doesn't he? I think he'll do well - and I'm very excited to see what kind of character Mr. Moffat gives him to play...

im not so sure about him not being defined by any role ever, never mind Doctor Who any actor can have a long & varied career, but when its all over, the general public are still going name the same few movies or TV shows you did, and Doctor Who is going to be one of those shows.

short of him winning an oscar in another role, then chances are he will be forever remembered as theDoctor

Must be nice. The rest of us will just have to suffice with these pesky internet videos... ;)

He's very well-spoken, but he does come off as a little awkward in front of the camera. Which is fine. Makes him seem rather loveable.

I'm really surprised that no info has leaked out by now. Aren't they supposed to start filming here soon?

Wonder if the Moff just knows us fans a little two well and has clamped a double-tight security lid on things as a result?

Filming will probably start next month. There usually aren't any leaks by this point in the schedule; what happens is that the production team announces some details about the early episodes. That hasn't been the case this year, whether because Moffat is bigger on secrecy or because they're keeping the publicity focus on the remaining specials as much as possible.

His voice sounds a bit like the older Peter Davison

Hope these will be his brainy specs

True enough. Look even at some classic Hollywood movie stars. Regardless of all the other great stuff they did in their careers, Humphrey Bogart will always be Ric in Casablanca, Marlon Brando will always be Don Corleone in The Godfather, and Clark Gable will always be Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind.
