I just got done uploading a new picture for the James T. Kirk profile at Wikipedia. As cool as the old picture was (you can still see it at the top of Memory Alpha's Kirk page), I didn't think it should have been used because of how dark the shadows were. You couldn't see much of his face. I was never a fan of the older picture used before that one either, a low quality season three photo of Shatner at his fattest. Interestingly, those two were of Kirk sitting in his command chair. His throne of leadership.
Since I'm sure we're going to get millions of curious new people looking up Star Trek on Wikipedia due to their recently peaked interest and unfamiliarity, I felt ol' Jim Kirk had to be better represented. The first picture they see of our beloved Captain has to be good in order to leave a positive impression. It has to be clear, dynamic and embody Captain James T. Kirk at his best and in his prime. In other words...it has to be perfect. My only regret is that I could not find a good screencap of Jim's upper body, showing off his shinny command badge.
What do you guys think? Is there another screencap that should be used?
