Interesting, I never noticed that about Moffat's episodes but I think that's fantastic. I love The Doctor having multiple companions at once.Moff said in DWM that he likes having two companions so they can stand there and say 'how barmy is he?' about the Doctor whilst he's standing around going on about how brilliant clockwork droids are or what-have-you.I mean, it's not like guys are going to suddenly STOP watching Doctor Who if there's no cute girl to ogle. lol
I'd honestly prefer it there were both. Why can't he have two companions at once?
Sally Sparrow and Larry from "Blink" would be an awesome team, I think.
interesting point, Moff had Jack and Rose in S1, Mickey and Rose in S2 and Sally and Larry in S3 and then Donna and River in S4....
And that's the key. If you supported them and they lost, and you still liked them anyway, that's oaky. To bitch and moan about losing each week gets self-defeating after a while. The whole 'if you don't like it, don't watch it' thing is the shittiest argument in the world.Dude, this season, do us a favour. Concentrate on your studies, don't watch and, frankly, don't post. The whole "I hate nuWho" schtick is getting old.
I support Liverpool but at the moment they're performing terribly and fans are divided on the manager on the players. I GUESS I SHOULD STOP BEING A LIVERPOOL FAN.
Maybe. After years and years of not liking them.
You're perceiving criticism as negativity for its own sake because you don't agree with it, thus giving you an excuse to dismiss anything I say out of hand.As I said to Bones, no problems with criticism, just with the whole negativity, which is a personal attitude, and it's like he's trying to spread it. He can spread genuine critical appraisal as much as he likes though, no problem with that.
I've not said all RTD episodes are rubbish (I've not reviewed them all yet), but there's an awful lot of chaff among the wheat. The new trailer was disappointing to me, which is a shame because I've still got high hopes for series 5. The screwdriver is just a bloody stupid thing, which does whatever is needed of it however outlandish, and often provides an excuse for lazy writing. Which, of course, was why they destroyed it in that Peter Davison episode. Its the unremitting negativity that pisses people off.
All RTD episodes are rubbish, romance is rubbish, a kids competition to create a console is rubbish, that new trailer is rubbish, the sonic screwdriver is rubbish did I mention RTD was rubbish? Julie Gardner is rubbish, Moffat is rubbish, Captain Jack is rubbish, children of Earth was rubbish, Nemesis is great!...
I watch it because I'm a Doctor Who fan, and it's a show I care about. At its best the new show is great television, but all too often it falls short for me. Just because I'm a fan doesn't mean I'm going to like whatever it puts out though, but I do my best to give my reasons. This isn't just blind negativity. I do want to like Doctor Who, and for it to be good.Seriously you seem to watch this show merely to pick fault with it, and that's not an especially healthy thing to do. Frankly when I was younger I guess I was the same, I used to love pulling Enterprise apart, but I did actually like some elements of it as well, enough to keep watching and eventually to come to quite like seasons 3 and 4. As I got older I realised there wasn't much point to ranting about and hating stuff so much.
Either accept you don't like the show and move on, or accept that the reason you keep watching is because you do like it, and try to concentrate on the positives, sometimes.
Well, I realise he brought the show back from death and made it successful. Doesn't mean I'm going to force myself to like all his writing.Nobody expects you to be all sunshine and roses, and heck I've slagged RTD off a lot on occasion on this forum so don't imagine for one minute that I'm a Rusty apologist. I call him on his flaws, but I laud his strengths, whereas you don't seem to think he has any.
If it wasn't Doctor Who I probably wouldn't care, but I do. As I said, this isn't blind hatred, and I always do my best to give reasons for why I may or may not like something.I can't figure out if you're genuine in your feelings (in which case seriously find another show to watch its not worth wasting your time on Who) whether you play them up for effect, or if you're just a really eleborate troll. (if its the latter you really need to find a better hobby!)
Maybe one day.Tell you what I would love to see, I'd love to see you turn your forensic nitpicking review style to some classic serials, hell or onto the TV movie!
yes after watching End of Time, I just dont see what harm will come to a show if it has a male companion. I just dont buy into this notion it HAS to be a female companion. Heck Clyde from SJA was a great companion in Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane.
Next month's issue of SFX has a lenticular Who cover.

that's frequently pointed out.

Ratings. Take away the customary cute female companion and you might suffer a bit with straight males.
