New image and new trailer (almost)

Anyway, I'm glad Ms Pond may or may not be getting married at somepoint in the series, means the Moffster won't be repeating the whole companion falling for The Doctor shite that Rusty did for Rose and Martha.

Somehow, I'm not quite convinced about that. One small excerpt doesn't say that much. But I would be glad if you were right (even though I liked Rose and the idea about Martha's unanswered love for the Doctor, though I wish it would have been written better).

Ah, Bones is back, happy as usual.

Dude, this season, do us a favour. Concentrate on your studies, don't watch and, frankly, don't post. The whole "I hate nuWho" schtick is getting old.

Yeah, the trailer was a bit ordinary, but good for ramping up interest with kids and those into 3D. It was okay, and I've seen worse.

An observation. Some here wondered if Amy was going to have a Scottish accent. Apparently not.

I wouldn't exactly call the trailer ordinary... I think it was really weird, and not necessarily in a good way. Other Who fans seemed to like it, though. In any case, the actual footage we've gotten from the new series is still so scant that it would be extremely premature to pass judgement on it.

She sounded Scottish to me?

Yeah, I meant 'ordinary' as in 'not that good'. My bad.

Hmm <relistens> Maybe. On the ground, kind of, in the vortex not so much.

Don't try and patronise me. Especially considering how I hadn't said anything for a page, and even then I only expressed a view clearly shared by quite a few people. If you want an uncritical discussion of the show, you know where to find Gallifrey Base.

Well there you go. Just do what I do and skip over Bones comments altogether. Makes my BBS experience a lot more enjoyable and stress free. ;)

Oh I have no problem with opposing viewpoints. I just tend to dissagree with a lot of your comments, and just don't have the energy for online arguments anymore.

Same reason I've started avoiding politics.

Then why make your previous post, other than a pathetic attempt to grasp a condescending highground?

;)

I'm not really sure what there is to be worried about, frankly. Despite some talk about being darker, I doubt they're going to change the style of the show THAT much-- especially as popular as it is. And we've seen all of the writers' work before.

As for Smith, it looks like he's playing the character basically the same way it's always been played (or at least within the range of what we've seen before). And I'm sure the companion will act like a typical companion too.

I do wonder with your hate/love/hate again relationship with RTD era do you have a preset amount of episodes for Moffat to make you a fan or will you stick around for his entire era no matter ?

It'll have to get pretty low for me to stop watching altogether. And I think Moffat's a good writer, so I seriously doubt that'll happen. As I say, I am optimistic, making the recent trailer (which I thought was an embarrassment) and that script bit all the more disappointing.

Ok, enough mean comments now, people.

mean comments? what mean comments, just looks like a bit of back and forth between two aposing viewpoints, anyway, who above the age of 10 uses the word mean to describe something negative?

You left out the part of my comment where I said I found the trailer a bit ordinaire, but thought, what the hell? it'll get people in. On a side note, this is going to be a foreseeable problem in the future: the story of a TV show/movie sublimated to the gosh-gee-wow 3D effects. I felt this happened a little in Avatar, and saw the same in the trailer for the Disney/Burton Alice in Wonderland.

I don't mind if someone is critical. If we still had them somewhere, you could find me being critical in the original discussion threads of certain eps. But the constant negativity is a different thing. Criticism done with a light and clear touch works better in the long run.

As for GB, noooo, not ever, I read Lonemagpie's thread about what happened to him there. :)

Trailer was maybe a bit overdone, but the BBC's just playing it cautious, making sure people will still tune to see the new guy.

I can live with it.
