New image and new trailer (almost)

That's a cool pic. The Smiler reminds me of The Gentlemen from that Buffy episode, "Hush".

God, Matt Smith is so goofy-lookin'!

I am, however, excited to see the return of the Weeping Angels (though I wish we could see Sally Sparrow again!).

Good luck getting an Oscar nominee for Best Actress to return to Doctor Who. :bolian:
She's willing to appear on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, so anything is possible.

The fact that she's willing to appear on a popular late-night talk show commonly used by big names in Hollywood to promote their projects is not necessarily evidence that she's willing to accept a guest star slot on a TV show.

Have you seen Craig's show? ;)

Poor guy doesn't even have a house band. He does have puppets though. And a snake mug!

What did we learn on the show tonight Craig? Meow! :p

He's his own sidekick :)

Can we infer from that photo that Amy is wearing her official outfit for the new series (much as Martha's was the red leather jacket & jeans)? Or will she be wearing an assortment of things like Rose & Donna? We have seen previous images of her wearing that weird red poncho-thing, not to mention 10's blue & red trainers.

I know. :(

Plus she's got that goofy haircut now.

If she doesn't win the Oscar maybe we can expect a return of Sally Sparrow in season 6?

It's been posted before but she's willing to come back.

Rising actress Carey Mulligan ("An Education," "Wall Street 2") tells FlickPhilosopher that if new "Doctor Who" showrunner Stephen Moffat asked her back, she'd be up for playing the character of Sally Sparrow a second time.
"I loved doing it. It was about two weeks of just running around screaming at things. Yeah, if he asked me back, I’d go back... I’d have to change my hair" said Mulligan during press for "An Education".

That wasn't really her "official" outfit, though; the episodes in which Martha wore that were all the episodes that took place immediately one after the other, before her return to the present after joining the TARDIS: "Smith and Jones," "The Shakespeare Code," "Gridlock," "Daleks in Manhattan," and "Evolution of the Daleks." As soon as she got back to her flat in "The Lazarus Experiment," she ditched the thing. In story-time relative to Martha, she probably only wore that outfit for about three or four days.

if she's willing to return and she's asked, she'll go back oscar or not. after all Sir Ian McKellan appeared in frigging Corrie and he's a theatrical legend and a knight of the bleeding realm and he's willing to go back cuz he enjoyed it.

It pretty much was her official outfit. She was wearing it in all her promotional pictures and action figures, she wore it again in The Sound of Drums and animated Martha was wearing it in The Infinity Quest.

However, considering pictures from episodes filming shows Amy wearing a variety of different outfits, its possible they are going the Rose/Donna route with her.

well, Donna wore that brown leather coat and grey dress thing a lot. that was used for a lot of her promo pix at least... even if she did take half her wardrobe with her.

I love that picture. Matt is really growing on me the more I see him and I think I've been in love with Karen since I first saw that promo pic of Amy aside the Tardis last summer. I can't wait to see series five.

So anyone see the trailer?

It seems a little odd at first, but grows on you with repeated viewing, and it goes without saying, its not something that will appear in the show, its something filmed specifically for the trailer.

That is a goofy little trailer.

Unfortunately, the more I see of Matt Smith, the less I like him.

Did he cop a feel on Amy there? :)

More of a simple promo trailer than anything else, whetting out appetites. I think MS seems Doctor-ish enough for me to give him a shot.

I like Blink but I'm not really feeling a need to revisit the angels.

Watching again I notice The Doctor is wearing a watch witch seems kind of funny.
