New image and new trailer (almost)

Starkers

SFX have revealed a new image relased by the BBC, doesn't seem to be on the offical site yet.

And apparently there's a new trailer airing Saturday...

Sqee!!

God, Matt Smith is so goofy-lookin'!

I am, however, excited to see the return of the Weeping Angels (though I wish we could see Sally Sparrow again!).

Damnit, Starkers! You had me all excited about a new trailer until I saw the "(almost)" bit. Now I have to wait! :scream:

Lovely image, however. The Smiler is downright creepy. :D

That article does state "April 2010" for the premiere.

That still doesn't mean anything until the BBC Press Office says it themselves. We had big sources get SJA's premiere date all wrong, too. However if a new trailer is due out this weekend, then that might mean they're getting ready to announce a date. I'm pretty certain it can't be earlier than mid-March because BBC Audio and BBC Books are still scheduled to release a David Tennant-read Tenth Doctor audio book (Dead Air) and a Quick Reads novella, Code of the Krillitanes, respectively, both in the first half of March. On the other hand, the first Eleventh Doctor audio, Hounds of Artemis, and the first 3 novels are supposed to come out the second half of April, so that's our window.

For some reason the link doesn't work for me, so I'm assuming it's the same image featured here:

I think it looks fantastic - and whatever that is in the bottom right corner is just creepy. I don't think Smith looks silly at all -- no more so than all those similar promotion shots of Tennant. In fact he's looking more and more Doctor-like all the time (which is what people want, right?).

And as for Amy Pond ...

QFT, he does look more Doctory all the time, and she looks more gorgeous. I hope her character is as great as she looks! :)

And if she is great, I hope she stays for more than one season this time. If you'll forgive the gratuitous Harry Potter reference (but I'm re-reading Deathly Hallows, so sue me), the position of Doctor Who companion has somewhat resembled the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher position at Hogwarts the last few years!

Is that a new look time vortex? Looks like a promo pic they took underwarter.

It looks like an updated version of Bakers vortex

The new image looks like what happened in "The Sound of Drums"

The Doctor
: Time-travel without a capsule. That's a killer!

I think that's the coolest Smith has looked yet. And I don't know why, but I'm really digging the suspenders.

Good luck getting an Oscar nominee for Best Actress to return to Doctor Who. :bolian:
