New FARRAGUT episode is SPECTACULAR!!!

This was a very good episode. I know it was another time travel one too but at least maybe its the last for awhile. It was interesting to see George Washington and his troops during the American Revolution. Did anyone get the little hint at the end of the episode through?

I didn't really see anyone discussing it through, but I do remember one of the fan series mentioning of doing a mirror universe episode but I can't remember who it was.

MacTrek, has had a personal tragedy in his life this past weekend, he is the one who usually does all the promoting and takes care of there site, that is why you have not seen his usual promotions, so we (Mike from NEO/fx, myself and others) are helping him a bit with that, to get eh film mirrored and the word out. :)

Certainly wishing him the best then!

Fantastic second episode, guys, congratulations! Great premise, and although the episode didn’t have much in the way of action, the plot and dialogue were more than sufficient to keep my attention. This was a ‘thinking’ episode, with a good mix of science, diplomacy, and the ethics of time travel thrown in for good measure.

Everything here was a significant improvement over your freshman outing. Plot, acting, special effects, and editing, it all flowed very well. I’m liking the various characters in the crew, their relationships and quirks. The personalities of the characters are really beginning to shine here, building on what was established in the pilot episode.

Kudos also to the Revolutionary re-enactors who did a fantastic job here, working with the incredible shoot locations to really sell the 18th century angle.

And the last image… just iconic. It took me a few seconds to realize the significance of it, but after it sank in, I got giddy fan chills.

My favorite bit from the whole episode was Prescott staring dumbfounded at the chiming tricorder, “I didn’t know it could do that!”

Great work all around, and I’m eagerly anticipating the next installment. :bolian:

*EDIT: Almost forgot. I loved the landing party field jackets, very cool!

I have to ditto Gibraltar's comments.

My comment earlier about the "backyard look" of most "location shots" holds with MOST Trek fanfilms, but not this episode -- it fits in perfectly, and makes perfect sense in the story (unlike Andorans living underground, from another fan film...)

So I say again, bravo and well done. (And my condolences -- or sentiments -- for the personal tragedy.

Tony

I need to download this over the weekend. The reviews here have me anxious to see it.

I love watching this stuff. Great episode although some of the acting could be better. Things just seem forced and don't flow naturally, but I'm sure they will improve.

Special effects and ship sets are incredible, I think they are the same ones that New Voyages uses?

Some of the shots made me chuckle. The door of the 1700's "house" and some of the siding shots look obviously modern day.

The end shot was very interesting, maybe we'll see a sequel to this? :)

Great job....keep them coming!!

The entire house that NiteTrek references are all period pieces in Smallwood State Park where they have been lovingly restored with period hardware, using period methods.

I find that hard to believe. There was one shot of a door that looked just like a modern day apartment door. There was another shot that looked to me like some type of aluminum siding.

Now, I come from a small town in Pennsylvania, near where Washington fought some battles, in fact there are a few buildings from that period, all stone and none of them looked liked what I saw in the Farragut episode. I could've sworn I saw something that resembled aluminum siding.

Guess I'll have to re-watch it, not sure if I can capture screen shots or not, if so, I will post them.

Edit: Here is one exterior shot, the entrance looks like more modern day siding around it. Also the building to the right looks like a modern brick building. The next shot shows the "apartment door" that I was talking about. When I first saw those, they sort of jumped out at me as being too modern...of course they were really quick shots and maybe they are from that period, it just didn't look like it at first....but hey, I'm not going to let it ruin anything. :D

Bravo everyone at Farragut. You really nailed that Original Series tone with a story that I think could have come straight out of the second season itself. I can't wait to see your next installment!

Really? Then I'm curious, depending upon whether you actually saw it, how you found Intrepid's locations?

NiteTrek--I was there for the filming--you should visit the park if you live that close--its really wonderful. I was very impressed with the little house and the brick building next to it. Remarkably authentic.

Well, I'm in Texas now but Pennsylvania will always be home, I try to visit there as often as I can and will move back there some day.

I don't doubt your word, everything else looks authentic, I thought that maybe they did a few "quick" scenes at someones apartment. :)

It's the Scottish countryside - it's "Dad's back yard," but "Dad" happens to be God. ;)

I just saw it, and thought it was pretty good. Slightly amateurish acting, but that's a given as they are not pros, but not terrible. The sets and FX were all good. Didn't care for the transporter effect, but again, not terrible. Enjoyed the story, and thought the tag was a great. I'm glad they didn't hit you over the head with it. Over all I give it a B.

Good job everyone.
