Fantastic second episode, guys, congratulations! Great premise, and although the episode didn’t have much in the way of action, the plot and dialogue were more than sufficient to keep my attention. This was a ‘thinking’ episode, with a good mix of science, diplomacy, and the ethics of time travel thrown in for good measure.
Everything here was a significant improvement over your freshman outing. Plot, acting, special effects, and editing, it all flowed very well. I’m liking the various characters in the crew, their relationships and quirks. The personalities of the characters are really beginning to shine here, building on what was established in the pilot episode.
Kudos also to the Revolutionary re-enactors who did a fantastic job here, working with the incredible shoot locations to really sell the 18th century angle.
And the last image… just iconic. It took me a few seconds to realize the significance of it, but after it sank in, I got giddy fan chills.
My favorite bit from the whole episode was Prescott staring dumbfounded at the chiming tricorder, “I didn’t know it could do that!”
Great work all around, and I’m eagerly anticipating the next installment.
*EDIT: Almost forgot. I
loved the landing party field jackets, very cool!
