In true Ferengi style my package appears to have been intercepted by customs and a £14 charge is payable before delivery! :scream:
 
It's still ridiculous. I don't have to pay absurd customs fees when I order Doctor Who audio plays from Big Finish out of the United Kingdom.

DS9 showrunner and What We Left Behind producer Ira Steven Behr has actually been working on the doc for a few years and is set to give fans a glimpse at this week’s Star Trek Las Vegas convention. TrekMovie checked in with Ira to see how things are coming along on the documentary and to find out what he has planned for Vegas.

Pity about Avery Brooks but I respect and understand his decision:

Yes, that is the question everyone is asking. I spoke to Avery and he is a big supporter of it. He has watched a bunch of the interviews, both actors and behind the scenes people. He is very supportive of the doc. But he has made it clear from the beginning that he has said everything he pretty much wanted to say and had to say about Deep Space Nine, and he didn’t feel he has anything important to contribute. So we are disappointed, but Avery is my captain and I take his word very seriously. So that is the story. If he has a change of heart he knows we would make every effort to get him filmed. If not, we have plenty of archival footage of him.

Great interview from Ira and it makes me all the more excited about this documentary.
 
With the amount of material they've gathered, it feels like they should do a longer presentation than 90 minutes. I wish they'd do at least 2 hours. Really looking forward to it regardless!
 
I can see why Behr would choose to limit it to 90 minutes: Present only the the best of the best of the interviews, or as he said specifically, "identify the salient moments that work the best." Not necessarily everything they recorded is going to be gold. That being said, I don't think it should be forced into an artificial 90-minute limit, but instead it should go with what naturally flows. I would prefer the documentary to be longer, but if roughly 90 minutes of interviews is what Behr thinks is best, then I'm all for it.

Avery is my favourite actor/captain along with Mulgrew, so really sad to hear we won't get another interview. But I understand and respect he's perhaps at this point said everything he needs to. But I'm sure the remaining cast interviews will be a blast :)
