New Constitution Refit and a nod to Vektor.

it's fine, i downloaded them all viagra and they unzipped fine, no malware russian wifes or anythhhhh3lnsvofadoijwcf o92u43c ifp w9p4u rc9

Then host them on your webspace and hotlink to them. .zip files linked in a thread on an anonymous bbs don't have the best reputation.

No, really? I though he wasn't clicking because his mouse finger was broken. :techman:

Download or not, it doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. The accusation by proxy is kind of annoying, mind you, but being paranoid on the internet is the right of all sentient beings.

I don't even know where to start with that! That made my afternoon. Okay, back to the salt mines with me, it's time to outline the Shivering Sands document for my RPG so my business partner gets off my ass. :rommie:

I actually like the .zip files and save alot of time getting these pics :) :techman:

Thank you for adding to my offline Star Fleet Starship archives :) :techman:

No prob. If there are ships you know if in STO you want some good shots of, let me know and I'll give it a shot.

I'll have shots of a couple of KDF ships shortly, the Naussican destroy and Gorn Science Vessel.

Well, if that's how I do it, I usually try and make sure someone I don't like is under the computer so there's a chance they get squished, in which case what happens to their computer is immaterial to them and more in the purview of 'busted' than infected with viruses.

Don't know if he'll post here, but Captain Logan is very happy to hear you liked his little love letter, Vektor.

Hi guys - glad Ian posted on here about the Vektor inspired Intrepid.

The Vektor submission for DTNE was by far my favorite design... I just LOVE the style. It has a very video-game kind of feel to it, and I think it would have been a really awesome choice for the winner.

In the future I'd like to do a full-on version of it if at all possible.

Mr. Lee, if you ever have any suggestions or critiques of anything I put in the game feel free to let me know either on these boards, the STO boards, or even on twitter @capnlogan - same with the TrekBBS community-at-large now that I mention it.

I want to also formally thank you for your contribution to the DTNE contest, and for your inspirado.

ADAM

It's always nice to see a game dev/show staff/whatever interacting with the fan community and solicit input. Since I'm not an STO player, my contributions will be limited.

First off, I'd like to say that you did a great job with the new Defiant, Intrepid, and Eaves inspired K'tinga variants. In spite of the limitations imposed by STO being an MMO, you've put together some amazing looking ships. I personally would love to see a higher quality rendering of that Intrepid- the low poly-model and texture don't really do it justice.

Second, the Constitution and Akira variants (Exeter and Thunderchild, if I recall) are also good, although no where near as good as the Intrepid and Defiant variants, are still solid designs. They don't wow me as much, but I put that down to the fact that there's only so much you can do with a Constitution and the fact that at certain angles, the curves and lines of the Thunderchild don't really jive and give it a misshapen look.

Third, the new Saber variant (Gladius?) and the new Klingon Birds of Prey seem to be off for some reason. With the Saber, I get the feeling that this could easily be some random alien ship of the week and I'm not sure why. It could be all the angles and how the ship is comprised of numerous wings. With the Klingon ships, I think my main problem is with the heads of the BoPs. I like that you are experimenting with the head shapes, but they kinda look more like Valdores now. I think widening the head would help make them a bit more consistent with past Klingon designs.

My problem with the above design is the wing, for lack of a better term, looks "derpy." There is just something about how this wing dips in the middle that looks absolutely ridiculous outside of a rear 3/4 angle. I kinda get the feeling that the wing might have been inspired by the F4U Corsair, but it doesn't work here because there is too much wing between the hull and the bend.

Fourth, I dig the Nausican designs, but the Orion ship does look way too Star Wars. I swear I've seen a nearly identical design in one of those Star Wars Essential Guide books.

Thanks, CapnLogan! I'm pleased you were that taken with my design and that parts of it have already made it into one of the game models. Frankly, such kind words from professionals in the field I aspire to work in myself one day are more valuable to me than the grand prize would have been.

The prospect of you doing a full-on version is exciting as well. Just out of curiosity, did you ever see the slightly revised version of the deflector dish I posted on my personal website? I'm still planning to do my own 3D version of it at some point, but that will have to wait at least until I get my Polaris and Grandeur models out of the way. If you ever do get around to that and want any additional input from me, just let me know.

I'd be glad to offer whatever critiques or suggestions you might find useful, but I have to confess I'm not an STO player. MMOs are something I just don't really have time for these days, unfortunately.

Thanks again for the recognition. It truly means a lot.

I feel kind of warm and fuzzy I was able to help kindle this bromance.

Anyhow, Cap! Something I'd like to say is I really love the design style you've thrown out for the most part. The new Defiant and new Voyager style vessels are incredible. Flying the Intrepid is simply a complete blast, it's gorgeous hull and paint job just look smooth from any angle. Only thing that bothers me is the lack of an Aeroshuttle on the underhull. Probably a reason for it, but it just feels off. Not enough to keep me from flying her liek I stole her, mind you.

I'm liking your new Klingon designs as well, especially your negh'var variant, she looks mighty intimidating.

Your Naussican vessels are pretty cool, though they feel really tippy when maneuvering.

Your orion Vessels feel like they're a tad off, though not so much they couldn't end up feeling more inline with Trek with subtle alterations to the overall design.

That Venture design looks real nice. With a few tweaks it would've made for a nice Enterprise-E.
