New Christmas Special thread

Bill Bailey looks more like a Klingon than a Cylon!

And with that said here's a picture of The Doctor and a synopsis of the special

Doctor Who - The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe
It’s Christmas Eve, 1938, when Madge Arwell comes to the aid of an injured Spaceman Angel as she cycles home. He promises to repay her kindness – all she has to do is make a wish. Three years later, a devastated Madge escapes war-torn London with her two children for a dilapidated house in Dorset. She is crippled with grief at the news her husband has been lost over the channel, but determined to give Lily and Cyril the best Christmas ever. The Arwells are surprised to be greeted by a madcap caretaker whose mysterious Christmas gift leads them into a magical wintry world. Here, Madge will learn how to be braver than she ever thought possible. And that wishes can come true...

Speaking of Christmas, the BBC just released the official BBC One Christmas promo which has various stars singing along to "Consider Yourself at Home". Matt and Karen and a Cyberman make an appearance. And in the process we get more clues that I don't think Karen's going anywhere - if she's left the show, or is only going to make occasional guest appearances, would she be doing promos with Matt Smith? I dunno:

(If you look carefully at the screen grabs from this I think that's a framed picture of Caitlin Blackwood behind Karen and Matt.)

It's a fun little trailer but the Who bits are clearly the best bits (Especially the Cyberman playing fake Twister with Matt)

BBC America has just confirmed 9 PM on Christmas Day following a Season 6 marathon and a new Christmas Eve documentary "Best of the Christmas Specials" .

Still no word from Space Channel in Canada, but odds are we'll get confirmation shortly from them now BBCA has announced its plans.

It's old hat now, but it's nice we're seeing these things actually on or around Christmas Day rather than waiting till summer (or never, in the case of CBC viewers still waiting for Voyage of the Damned to turn up).

SPACE has confirmed via Twitter that the Christmas special will air....wait for it....on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, at 9pm!

Congratulations. Eastern Canada, That'll likely coincide with East and West Coast US BBCA, as we typically get our Doctor Who showing at 6PM (9PM Eastern) and repeated at 9PM West Coast Time ( I think East Coast first airing is also 9PM Eastern)

Wow. I think this marks the first time that we'll be getting the Christmas Special on Christmas Day. Space has usually aired it on Boxing Day following a marathon. So did CBC for "The Christmas Invasion".

...Don't you think it's about time they did a Hanukkah special? Just sayin'. : P

My parents will be over-joyed to hear that it'll actually air on Christmas day in the states, too. My mom was a casual fan of NuWho until Matt Smith came along...She was actually venturing into online message boards and reading theories about what would happen! And my mom has trouble with copy/paste operations, understand -- she's not a tech wizard.
