New Bridge/Interior Designs

The NX-01 had a 'warp core' which was nothing like was seen on the other series...made sence to me that the TOS 'core' was something more like that (it could have been those large redish machines on one of the walls)

Just when all the "are we happy with the recasts" have finished 6 threads all on about technology pop up...gotta love these forums :D

Dramatic lighting will go a long way to updating the look. Like in the Defiant on Enterprise, it went a long way to making it look more modern compared to the 60's.

A cross between the TOS and ST5 bridges would be perfect in my opinion, always saw that bridge as a truly updated version of the original with paler colour scheme.

change the controls and displays so they look like they do something and get rid of the hand things in the lifts...bridge is done.

Do you think they will keep with one lift like TOS or add a second ala the movies?

I also assume that the "astrogator" is a touch-controlled device, and the big three-pronged "dial" we see on it sometimes (but not always) is actually a displayed element, not a physical dial.

Haven't we seen the three-pronged dial being dialed (i.e., grasped and manipulated)? I'm sure I've seen that, though I can't say where.

I want to see the exact same TOS bridge architecture (including the general color scheme), but with updated consoles and panels.

Id buy that with the odd change...the red bits around the consoles could subtly become padded rails

Don't forget that the bridge as seen in The Cage actually was MORE advanced with its handsfree "swiping" controls...

Except that while we see Spock gesturing and the image changing, what was actually filmed was that there was a woman seated at the console whom he was signaling with his gesture, not a Klatuu style hand-wavium control.
Click here to go to the page, then scroll down once and click the bottom of the four film frames (Spock at the science station). When it appears in the Guardian, click on the Guardian to see the full image (honestly, I hate how many steps it takes to get to the images on this site now). There's the woman who's actually controlling the display.

Ah, thank you! I had wondered if I may have merely dreamed that shot. I hate not being able to back up my statements without evidence.

Sincerely,

Bill

Ha! It's amazing how a camera angle can give a whole different impression to a scene! If nothing else, that just resolved a niggly-naggly bit of continuity issue for me!

(I'll take it on good faith that we're referring to the original version of The Cage/The Menagerie and not the remastered version! ;) )

Cheers!

Alex
