New Behind The Scenes Video

The starfleet ship(s?) have so much wasted space its incredible. I mean, what justification could there be in universe for every damn room being the size of a gym?:vulcan:

Also, that Transporter room is easily the worst set design I've seen in Trek, period. Those three Doc Brown speakers and weird pit don't even match the rest of the stupid interiors, and just looks horrible by itself. Also, I'm still waiting for someone to turn on a light on the starship. Either that, or expect a line in the pilot about all the injuries the Doctor has to deal with from people stubbing their toe and smashing their heads on all the things they obviously can't see in a ship that is somehow darker then the Batcave. :lol:

I prefer fine cinematography and set work over realism as far as room sizes go. What does it really matter how big the room is? If I can get creative with the camera work because I'm not limited by my surrounds, that's good. As far as lighting, I agree.

I wonder if those coloured things are storage devices, like TOS.

@2:09 -- Is that the first time we saw (what I think is) Saru's feet/hooves, or did I miss that before
@2:35 -- Tribble!

RE: The scene with Burnham in that huge brig-like place:
Do we know that is the Discovery, Shenzou, or any ship at all?

this video makes me more excited for the show than anything they've released so far. it's just a matter of tone here, they're not focused so much on war. sets are fantastic too.

those hooves gotta go tho.

Great set work! Like nothing ever been done for televised Star Trek.

Yeah, it's similar to the more recent big screen outings (Ducks as he opens a BIG can of Warms here):

^^^^
The above are both shots of the 'Brig' set from "Star Trek: Into Darkness" ;)
[Oh, and I'm NOT complaining about the ST: D 'Brig' set design at all, it's gorgeous. Just pointing out, there are JJVerse design cues in it. :eek::whistle::shrug:;)]
