New Behind The Scenes Video

Yeah, it's similar to the more recent big screen outings (Ducks as he opens a BIG can of Warms here):

The above are both shots of the 'Brig' set from "Star Trek: Into Darkness" ;)
[Oh, and I'm NOT complaining about the ST: D 'Brig' set design at all, it's gorgeous. Just pointing out, there are JJVerse design cues in it.:whistle::shrug:;)]
Oh, I'm sure that's where they were taking their cue from. That was a neat set on the Enterprise. I think I like the angular nature of this new one a bit more, though.

Huh those orange lines on the walls, I guess that was the brig Michael is sitting in when she is in that forcefield cube.

They'll probably use a forcefield instead of what ever that window thing was.
Actually that Window WAS a force field. That was why McCoy was able to engage and move the 'hole' device that allowed Khan to put his arm through so he could get a blood sample.

I thought that was some weird hypothetical malleable window.

I could have sworn there was some reality behind it.

That brig is too Tron looking. I'm all for something new, don't get me wrong. But I wish it looked a BIT more Star Trek-y. Not has bad as the Shenzhou transporter room though, that looks like shit and doesn't match the aesthetic of the rest of the ship at all.

I actually think the production design on Discovery surpasses the JJTrek designs.

The Discovery design stuff is really, really nice. I'm really excited about how the show looks. The props nodding back to TOS is also awesome. I love what they've done on this element of the show.

I hope that the writing and characters are just as high-quality.

At first glance, I thought the tall thing sitting at the edge of the navigation/ops console was a travel mug (0:53). Captain Georgiou lets them bring their drinks to work like on the Orville!

I was about to post this YouTube link, and realised its the same video...
