It would be excellent if they could be secured for the project. Anyone but Bryan Singer, for that matter.^^I don't know about Abrams himself, but I would be very surprised if one of his associates like Orci or Lendelof weren't.
^^^ For the TV version that would be the limit of GAL's involvement, yes. But he retained the rights to making feature films. At least, that was the case a few years ago. If he continued to hold on to those rights (and he's probably hashing out the final contractural verbiage w/ Universal as we speak), his involvement would certainly be deeper than just a passing tagline credit on this particular project.
