So after 50 years of unchanged conserved reaffirmed 2260s designs on the air, suddenly they lose their relevance or appeal?

It’s not that they lost their relevance or appeal, it’s that new people want to do new things. Which in and of itself isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes ‘new’ doesn’t always equate to ‘better.’

If TOS is so worthless, why revisit it at all?
It's kind of funny. I spent two years in this forum fighting tooth-and-nail for and sticking up for the inclusion of TOS elements into Discovery. One of many reasons why I'm posting much less in this forum now is because I became worn out from it.

And the strangest thing is: do you know who I was arguing with for TOS to be included? Other fans of TOS who were against it. Well, some of them are actually TOS fans and it's just a case that we see things differently. But others really aren't (they're more fans of TNG or DS9) and are just using TOS as a weapon to bash Discovery with. How about that? Now, you wouldn't happen to know anyone like that, would you? No. Of course not. But anyway...

This is all on top of my time when I first posted on TrekBBS when I was the one sticking up for TOS back during a time when it wasn't fashionable to do so.

It seems a few folks want to toss TOS.
Shame on them.

Here. It just doesn't fit with what they are doing now. I say that as a long time TOS fan and consider it my favorite TV show ever. Sometimes one just has to be realistic about things.

Finally managed to watch this (technical difficulties) and I gotta say that was adorable, not to mention a whole lot of fun.

And, no, I didn't waste a minute worrying about questions of continuity and "canon." It's a cute animated cartoon featuring lots of fun TOS Easter eggs. Who cares if it's "canon" or not? Or whether the cartoon Starship designs matched up perfectly with this or that version of Enterprise.

It's a cute, heartwarming kid's cartoon. Why nitpick it to death?

Fandom knows no other way.

Nitpicking is fun, why not bring up the obvious mistakes and what you think they should've done differently? Doesn't mean we can't also enjoy it ;)
