News New Animated Series/Movies coming from the Avatar:TLA Universe

Great! Animated continuations from the original creators are more what I've wanted to see than the Netflix live-action reboot, especially since the creators left the reboot. Now they'll finally have more opportunities to flesh out the canonical world (in a way that I hope remains consistent with the comics).

I want to see them continue the technological evolution we had between A:TLA and TLoK, move even further into the future. What is spaceflight like in the Avatarverse? Can benders even function away from the world and the elements? Is their cosmology anything like ours (considering that the moon is a literal deity)?

I really enjoy TLA, but I loathed Korra so I'm not interested if anyone from that team is working on new stuff. I'd be up for adaptations of some of the comics, since that would mean getting more of TLA, but I doubt that will happen.

AtLA was great, Korra was better, the movie was garbage, and every new thing I hear about the Netflix show makes me less and less interested, so I'd call this very good news!

There's dozens of avatars and over 10,000 years of history to play with, so it's nice to finally see something new done with this criminally underserved IP.

I don't know if anyone here is aware, but there's a pair of novels that came out over the last few years that tell the story of Kyoshi and they're legitimately good books. Well written and in the tradition of the shows; age appropriate for the main character (turns out, Kyoshi was a teen when she was "discovered".) An animated adaptation of that material would be wonderful, but I'm interested to see whatever they choose to go with.

Personally, the story I've been the most curious about ever since the two parter about Wan is the story of the second avatar. Aside from Wan, all the other Avatars we know about were born into a world that already knew what the avatar cycle was all about. There was some kind of infrastructure and support system ready to find them, and teach them who they are and what is expected of them. But the second incarnation of the Avatar? Blank slate! They would have had to discover all of this all by themselves in a world that was still wild, chaotic and untamed, where humans were only a generation or two off the Lion Turtle cities and the four nations are not even close to being a thing.

I love the legend of Aang. I like Cora too, of course, but not as much. I hope it will be a great picture. It's just, man, Avatar Aang was my childhood. I still like to rewatch that cartoon series sometimes. On the one hand it's childish, but at the same time it's very adult. I love Zuko and his uncle, Toph, Sokka. And of course Aang. And the latest episodes are still giving me unbelievable emotions. I watch it on 123movies because of its quality. And I will be very sad if the studio will follow all modern trends. I just hope that the new avatar will not be an adaptation of Death Notebook from Netflix, that the cartoon will retain all the atmosphere of its older brothers.

You know, admitting you watch something on a site like that so openly, might not be the best idea.
