I love how frisky a dog can get in snow.

Dallie (my little black lab mix) loves the cold and the snow. When I take her outside to do her business, she'll spend 20 minutes sniffing the ground, the air, wagging her tail and walking around looking at the frost on the ground. Meanwhile I have frozen solid and require the use of the M.O.D.'s unfreezing process. This will, of course, kill my inner monologue, but sacrifices must be made.

What were we talking about again?

I used to have a dog that refused to pee outside unless she could do so on grass. I'd have to shovel a patch clear for her to do her business, otherwise she would take forever. Or just hold it until our carpet looked close enough to grass for her to get some relief...

It's a bad BAD blizzard today. Two feet of snow overnight. The town and the highways are shut right down.

It's a stay at home day today.

Feeling festively frivolous, I used a pocket square as an ersatz cravat today... :D

Bizarrely enough, only a couple of people at work even mentioned it. I think my eccentricity is wearing off. Must amp it up a bit more...

We had a dog who was just like that when I was a kid.

On the other hand, all our labs have always LOVED the snow. Contrary to the peeing on the grass thing, our first lab loved to pee on the snow for some reason. As spring arrived each year and the snow melted to smaller and smaller patches, he would hold it and seek them out to pee on. He always looked so sad that inevitable day in the Spring when there were finally no more patches of snow to pee on.

Our current two just go crazy in the snow. Their normal 1 1/2 year old puppy energy level is really ramped up to 11 in the snow. ;)

Yeah my dog also loves to pee on snow. She also loves to play in the snow and she adores chasing snowballs (I throw them down our driveway) and then licking them. ;)

How do you not get unbearably warm?

Needs more popped collars. MOAR, I say! :D

I like that. The house i live in now my family has lived in for almost 18 years now, although the original building was built in the 50s and added on in the 80s. :) Lots of great memories.
