YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!

;)

I would have really liked the 50D (or even the 7D, though it wasn't out yet), but I didn't feel I could justify paying that much for my first SLR body before I actually had any experience. Depending on how things go, I'll probably upgrade to whatever the equivalent of the 7D is in 2 years or so.

In the mean time, plenty of lenses I can spend my money on! :D

Generally speaking, for better pictures, your money is better spent on better lenses than on a better camera. In other words, a cheaper camera (among dSLRs) with a good lens will take better pictures than a more expensive camera with a cheaper lens. So, it sounds like you're doing the right thing by getting the good lenses first.

We just needed a new camera, our Rebel Xt was getting old!

In case you haven't read this thread, here are some pics of my brother's miniature pony, Fred. His wife bought him Fred for Christmas this year and says he is very gentle, playful, and is akin to having a puppy around.

Fred's a good name.
Although now that I look at him, I would have named him Wash. :D

"I think we should call it your OUThouse!"

"Curse your sudden but inevitable cud chewing!"

From our office Christmas party last Friday night... first, this is me on the left with Chrinfinity:

And me with a couple of random co-workers:

There's at least one other picture that I was in, but I haven't received a copy of it yet.

And yes, I know I need to shave. I still haven't. I don't trust myself with a razor at the hour I have to wake up to get to work in the morning. (You can see the exhaustion in that second picture... I'm starting to get wrinkles around my eyes. :( )

Mr Awe

I'd like better lenses too but I am starting to get frustrated by the limited ISO range of my Rebel XT.

^^ That's the camera that we had and, yeah, I hear you! We upgraded! I do like love our new Canon 7d. At least 2 stops worth of ISO gained without any more noise.
