A very posy picture of me in my latest glasses (been meaning to post a pic of them since August!):

I love them! They're very flattering. And they look a bit like mine. Are yours pink too? It's hard to tell in the photo. Mine are very pink:

Thanks! :D They're a sort of burgundy colour I suppose. They are my favourite pair of glasses that's I've ever had!

Very nice. I really like your stuff!

Seconded. It's really fantastic!

What kind of macro lens are you using for these shots?

Thanks! :)

I'm using the Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro, which I got used a month or so ago. Yay eBay!

Sweet. A photographer friend of mine was talking about this lens just the other day!

EDIT: Since I didn't want to double post.... Here's one of my cat Gimli taken with my iPhone.

Lying on my unfolded clean laundry. It's a rule. If it's clean, he lies on it.

Lily looks so sweet!!! We've had several friends with Dalmatians, and they've all been the BEST!!!

And, I don't want to leave Gimli out. Great name and a beautiful (or should I say handsome) pussycat. Makes me miss ours. We had them for 15 years, and it's been a little over a year without them now. But, I'm cat sitting for a neighbor this week, and so I'm getting a bit of a kitty fix. :)

And, since you've opened the door ....

Kodi (chocolate) and Ledger (yellow) after a good romp in their very favorite park last Sunday. That's Boston not quite visible in the hazy background.

And relaxing at home later that evening (of course we don't spoil them ... much.) ;)

And my 80 lb lap dogs keeping daddy company. :p

^Nice dogs. I love labs.

Me too, and I'm getting one at 3 PM today. :)

I've got Trekkie beat in the lap dog department, as my chocolate Lab is pushing 100.

And which park is that anyway? I'm always looking for new places to romp around.

Since we're off tomorrow, we will tire the pup out, and then take the brown beast over to Ashland State Park. It's a nice loop around a reservoir and takes about 2 hours.

That's a cute dalmatian you've got Ruaidhri. Other than the German Shepherd my folks had when I was a kid, all my dogs have been a solid color. Never spotted or plaid.

My labradoodle is about 60 lbs, but she doesn't like to be a lap dog. She'll gladly take up the whole sofa or lay beside someone, but she doesn't like to be on people.

My dog is strictly not allowed on the furniture. The one exception is that I'll sneak him into the bed sometimes when my wife is away.

Thanks, we're kinda fond of 'em, ourselves. :D

I'm SO excited for you and your new addition! We have absolutely GOT to arrange a "play date". ;)

That's the Arnold Arboretum in JP (where I live.) If you look at this map:

http://www.arboretum.harvard.edu/visitors/map.html

the lower right hand portion is known as the sort of unofficial off-leash dog area (shhhh, don't tell anyone.) ;) The larger portion of the park is much more "manicured", but the "Peters Hill" portion is relatively rustic. It's no 2 miles, but it's a good time, and there's a wonderful larger unpaved trail that sort of circumscribes the paved path (shown on the map) that's great for letting loose the hounds. And, as you can see, the views from the top of the hill are spectacular. Well, actually you can't see it in that picture, but trust me. :p We'll have to have you over sometime. ;)

And you're the third person to mention Ashland State Park to me. Need to check that out.

That reminded me of a favorite Bugs Bunny cartoon. ;)

Yeah, with our first lab we didn't allow him on the furniture for the first year + ... and then we got tired of sitting on the floor all the time, which we did because we just wanted to hang out with him. So, we gave in. Plus, the furniture was old(ish.) We didn't even try with these guys, and even encouraged them to sit with us from a young age. You can see the result. :alienblush: But, hey, we love it. We just know that the next time we get furniture it's not going to be Stickley or anything. Jordans or Boston Interiors all the way, baby. :p

I drove through parts of the arboretum this summer when I was in the field for work. It's on my list of places to go. I didn't realize how green it was though, you can barely see Boston from there.

As for Ashland, it used to be a spring and fall sort of place, because there's a busy beach and picnic area you had to navigate around in the summertime. But the park was unstaffed this year. Open to the public, but gated off at the street, no lifeguard, and all the tables were piled up. It was always dog friendly, but has become a de facto dog park. It's easy to get to, right off Rt 135.

The thing is we're in our late 20's and getting our feet on the ground. So all our furniture is new stuff we've got in the past year and a half to replace all the pressboard grad student stuff we had. I'll let it get a little more wear and tear first before letting pooches on it.

The cool thing about getting a second dog is that you already have all the old collars, leashes, toys, crate, etc. from the old one, so the upfront cost is much less. The one thing I do need to get though is more cheapo doggy towels. I'm ok for now, but not equipped to handle 2 large dogs that are drawn to water!
