New Aliens in the movie

alienonkelvinbridge.th.jpg

Alnschloss K'Bentayr from the planet Monchezke
I'm a little disappointed that there's a name and birth planet for this one already, since he looks enough like Lt. Arex to be Edosian.

I think I've seen the Keenser before. No don't say 'Ompa Lumpa' or 'Ewok'. I think I've seen the real species in another Trek episode. I can't tell you which one or which series because my Trek knowledge isn't that good but he's a midget version of some well known alien

Im pretty sure i saw a cadet with scaley skin and a kind of protruding part at the back of the skull, or is that an already established race?

Yeah I spotted it, sorry I can't answer I only really know Star Trek's more common known alien races

I was also on the look out for aliens

saw that orange colored Arex, I'm almost certain

I noticed in the background there often was this alien that looked like a grey/blue demon, the closest thing I could think of was Jem'Hadar/RuraPente. You can see him/her/it was the recruits are sent off on a mission, at the inquiry to Kirks test cheat or at the final award ceremony...can't say much else as you only see the alien for a second each time

This big dude is another one you see with the recruits (around the time u see Stargate’s Paul McGillion) and you see this big alien again the final award ceremony.
All I know is he's a really big guy and his jaw kinda looks like a shrimp or a fish or something weird

Stands about 6' 7" or 2 M tall

I think there's another Orion woman next to Uhura when Kirk shows up with his tongue and face swollen, could be the same girl but she seemed a bit more bald than green...can't be sure since the view only happens for an instant.

I noticed the new aliens as well, but I chaulked it up to the altered timeline. Not sure if that's the real reason, but it works in my head.

Are you for REAL? You seriously cannot accept that perhaps we did not see all possible federation aliens in the "prime" shows/movies? Is there no room for showing new aliens?

Were the Xindi in Enterprise also in an altered timeline? Geez.

That's not an alien, that's Elton John in a hat.

Was anyone else not quite sure this was actually supposed to be an alien the first time you saw her? I know my first reaction was, "What's wrong with her face?"

I have to agree with the user that said the nurse looks like one of those morphed manga/anime-in-real-life images. I also have to agree with the user that said they had hoped for more varied designs with the aliens and that these aliens wouldn't look that out of place in the TNG era. I did very much like the giant creatures though. They reminded me a lot of the creatures in Capcom's video game called Lost Planet. Here's hoping that NuTrek* continues to explore new and different alien designs in the sequels to come!

*Side note: I have been calling this Ultimate Trek as a shout out to the similiarities between this concept and what Marvel Comics has done with their Ultimate versions of their characters. NuTrek is kinda funny though. Where does the "Nu" come from? I understand that the pronouncation is NEW, just wondering if there was something else behind the "Nu".

It comes from when the new BSG came out people were calling it NU-GALACTICA so it was sort of adopted for this new TREK as NU-TREK.

Thanks, Miracle.

I was never a BGS fan so that would be why the "Nu" reference went right over my head.
