I was sceptical at first and I haven't really seen it yet in all its glory, but I think I'm going to love this new engineering set. :eek:

I liked Kelvin's engineering more than Ent's. I hope they build their own set next time.
 
I think Enterprise's engineering "set" is horrid conceptually and as far as can be judged from still photos doesn't work. Given how carefully and successfully the movie has been designed otherwise, it's hard for me to fathom why everyone involved agreed that this approach was a good idea.

What I've seen in clips online and heard so far is that exposure to that environment is mercifully brief in the movie and not terribly jarring.

Mercifully brief enough that they can scrap the whole thing and start from scratch
