Never seen TOS scenes...round 3

Thanks much. I'll see what I can do.

I'm giving this a lot of thought because if I can at all possibly manage it I'd like to pull off at least one set of photonovel like sequences of the Pike era much like I did with the Star Trek: New Era scenes.

It would kinda be like a "lost episode" of sorts. :D

It's a start. From the same folks who brought you Star Trek: New Era scenes from a "lost episode." :D

Hey, Warped, long time no see.

College is over and i can start posting again.

Heres a re-work of a manip i did ages ago.

Look closely at the rank braids.

All ive re-worked on this is smoothing out the skin and lightening it up the face to give a younger look, ive also smotthed over the uniform and re-coloured it.

Lt. Cmndr Kirk on the Faragut. :D

Taking aboard a special passenger for a sensitive mission...

I've been remembering how excited I'd been over the prospect of the Marvel Comics Star Trek: Early Voyages title several years ago. And in the beginning it had been good, but sadly it petered out. Now I'd really love to see a first-rate Pike era feature film or series, whether live-action or animated, with great casting and story that could be as rousing as Master And Commander or, well, TOS.

Kirk wonders why Starfleet inacted a "no toupe'" rule for captains. And...What the hell is that bumpy-headed thing back behind me? :guffaw:

some great images here spock boy and especially warped.

since you did soft weapon would you consider using a puppeteer .

Don't feel alone, J Archer, I can't even draw a stick man on the sidewalk with a piece of chalk.

W9, I like the Pike story frames. The last frame (the one utilizing JtB, WNMHGB, and colorizing Spock's tunic) is amazing piece of work to artistically-challenged people...like me.

Thanks. I may retouch that last image since Spock should look a little younger (as in "The Cage") and his tunic collar is wrong. I lucked out when I came accross that pic of Sarek taken from the scene where he's exasperated from the harassing Tellarite in JtB, and it serves well here as him unwilling to speak or even acknowledge Spock as his son.

*Putting a puppeteer together would be challenging. I've got the basics imagined in my head, but it's been quite sometime since I've read Larry Niven's Ringworld and Ringworld Engineers. Hmm, but the ship coming accross a ringworld itself could be interesting.

Slightly off topic: The 1701D witness the incredible as a crippled Borg cube is swallowed by the new planet killer. A scene inspired from the novel Vendetta.

Here's another update on the unfolding Star Trek: Early Voyages never seen episode. :)

Hmm. You know just looking over these pics suggests to me that there really is a potentially interesting story to tell here.

- The discovery of a friggin' ringworld? (take that TNG with your Dyson sphere that you didn't even explore for crissakes!)
- Pike has to escort a special envoy in the form of a high ranking Federation ambassador? And it's all being kept secret?
- Who built this thing? It evidently required a very advanced civilization.

Larry Niven where are you when we need you? :)

the sphere in tng had a very unstable star which was emmiting a great deal of radiation.
which is why the sphere had been abandoned.

one thing with the ring world as in niven's novel there should be the questions of not only who built it but what happened to them.

warped if you need some back ground i may be of help but the site i listed has a whole lot of useful stuff.

in your story would spock be there as a science officer.

more great stuff..

Well Spock was a Science Officer if not the Chief Science Officer.[/i] I have a nebulous idea of what could be going on here and I have Niven's Ringworld atound here somewhere. I can think of perhaps one or two more images that I can add to this.

Forgive my self-indulgence, but I must say that doing these photomanips has been a lot of fun. Looking back over the dozens upon dozens of pics I've cobbled together it's been particularly gratifying when everything comes together and the images actually look convincingly authentic. What a cool way to finally see so many of the things we've imagined yet never got the chance to see onscreen.

Back in the dark days of the '70s when all we had were episode adaptations, a handful of original novels and reference books, some less-than-stellar comics, conventions and the brief experience of TAS I fulfilled my thirst for more Star Trek adventures with building models. Today I still build the models and periodically try to write TOS era stories in somewhat similar fashion as the series told its stories, but I'm glad that I'm able to bring these imagined scenes to life and share them with other like minded enthusiastic fans.

As long as Star Trek stimulstes our imagination then it will never really die no matter what some naysayers may say.

And as long as I can imagine new scenes then I'll keep fashioning them together to be seen.

:)
