Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice...

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

Stepping out of the box for a bit here. I don't know how many of you here are familiar with Vektor's fantastic U.S.S. Vanguard design, but suffice to say that I think it was one of the few and most amazing and authentic looking Trek related ship designs I've ever seen, and in ways more so than many actual official Trek designs. I've been following his work-in-progress and I'm looking forward to his completing the ship.

In the interim I've gotten his permission to post an image of his beautiful ship among my TOS tweaks. I muted the colours a bit, added a bit of noise and set it against a space shot I got off the Astronomy Picture Of The Day site.

What a gorgeous ship. I only wish Vektor had gotten the windows done by now. I also would love a model kit of the Vanguard...

In my own little private view of Star Trek the Vanguard is as good as canon.

Here's another imagined scene from "Errand Of Mercy" as the E leads the Federation fleet back to Organia. I've tried to use some diversity for variety of ships. There's one other TOS era equivalent version of the Constitution-class in there as well as 2nd pilot versions. I've also included some manipulated versions of the destroyer/scout class, although little of this may be readily apparent.

Yeah, I saw the seond pic. The problem is that you need two pictures to show that Enterprise wasn't alone. One pic shows Enterprise confronting the Klingon fleet, the other shows a fleet of Fed ships. No single pic shows more than one ship from the respective sides.

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

^^ Yep, I understood that and I considered it, but then it gets into the problem of crowding too many things into the frame to suit my tastes. :D And so that's why I went the way I did. Mind you a static shot doesn't convey what I rather envisioned as a quick panning shot: we track the Enterprise approaching with the companion Federation ships following and then track with her as she passes our pov and then moving towards the awaiting Klingon ships.

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

I've been a bad boy. :D Okay I have been posting a lot of pics recently and so I negligently exceeded my bandwith. But I've taken care of it and things will be back to normal within a day or so. Sorry for the temporary inconvenience.

Here's a straight-up beayty shot of the E. I tweaked another one of Kirkunit's cgi renders to compose this pic...

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

Here's a hypothetical scene from James Blish's cool 1970 novel Spock Must Die! wherein a transporter experiment goes awry and creates a duplicate or mirror Spock! Here in this version of a scene from the book Kirk has had them wear different uniform tunics so as to tell Spock One and Spock Two apart...

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

Does anyone remember those energy belts from TAS that created some kind of personal force field arround a person. Those belts have been used because a forcefield effect was cheaper than drawing the character in a spacesuit. But i like the idea and rembered a scene in "The squire of Gothos": The ship's scanners could not detect an breathable atmosphere but a landing party beams down.
In my version they use the energy belts:

^^ That's why they were wearing breathing apparatus only to discover to their surprise that there was a breathable atmosphere.

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

Another rare post "The Cage" scene of landing on an alien world...

Truth be told it would be nice if I had something different for a shuttlecraft for this time period to show that the Class F type were more recent to the TOS era.

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

The Quentin Tarrentino version of Amok Time.

This would probably have been the first scene, then the rest told in flashback.

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

^^ If Kirk had been losing that much blood I doubt he'd still be standing in Vulcan's thin atmosphere.

Here's an early diplomatic call to a Federation world...

Rather straight forward tweaked panning shot of the Pike era E in orbit...

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

Wooooooah, sweet versions of the Pike era.

Theyre the best yet, Warped.

I love the shuttle landing. ;)

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

I still think all of the WNMHGB shots should have Spock in a blue shirt. Why should WNMHGB be different from the Pike-era that preceded it or the S1-S3 episodes that followed?

I'll give it a try. :)

Ok, this was a quick edit, so its a bit shoddy in places.

Re: Never seen TOS scenes, but would've been nice.

^^ Decent job, but the shade is wrong considering that we saw blue uniforms both in WNMHGB and "The Cage."
