Never , EVER take a single day for granted

Pretty shocking. You hear about things like this, but to have it happen the way it did is even more heartbreaking.

Scary stuff. If it had to happen, it least it was after he won the game for his team. You hear more and more of these stories about athletes just dropping dead. Hard to know why.

Sometimes it's due to undiagnosed heart defects, that then strain the body to its limit after pushing the body so hard. I heard--and it may be wise advice--that young people starting in sports should get checked out by a doctor, maybe even a cardiologist, first.

I'm generally not that much of a sports person, but I heard about this at work today. A sad story. :(

Two things make this especially chilling - one is that it was not only right after the game winning shot, but of their 20th and final game for a perfect season.

The second is that it's the 2nd young athlete from this town/highschool that's up and died shortly after a sporting event. They had a jv wrestler that went into a seizure at home shortly after a meet that died.
