Nero's scars and chewed off ear

His scars all around the back of his head are quite horrifying, as well as his chewed ear. As he did not have this damage when we first see him I assume he got it in Rura Penthe. Makes me really want to see the Rura Penthe scenes.. I think you could do a whole episode or movie about the Narada crew's years on Rura Penthe and their escape.

Does anyone think they should have made Nero look older when we see him post-Kelvin? Or does 25 years not show much on a Romulan face since they have longer lifespans? I would think Rura Penthe would age anyone.. but we do see those scars.

Well Nero is a fighter, for he and (we presume) most of his crew survived 25 years in Rura Penthe, when we learned in ENT that most people sent there don't survive more than 6 months.

Yes I loved it but it did not show Rura Penthe! And the neither does the novelization (or it hasn't yet, about half way through it).

For some reason I've always had a thing for Rura Penthe. And yes considering how T'Pol was in her 60's if I recall correctly I think that Vulcanoids do not age much in 25 years, even with Klingon prison camps.

Eric Bana was Chopper Harris in a film, he mutilated his ear much like Nero while in prison.

You know how George went flying towards the viewscreen at the point of collision.. well he crashed right into Nero and convulsively chomped down on his ear and ripped it away right then and there. And then Ayel shot him and he died with green blood in his mouth.

It's true!
