Nero/Alternate Universe...When did it actually become 'alternate'?

At the end of the day... this lifetime fan would've been much happier with a straight reboot of the franchise. I didn't need to be pandered to. YMMV.

I don´t know if anyone has commented it here, but ENT would not be an alternate universe?
The events described in TOS may have occurred without the interference of the Future Guy, since ENT was created in an alternate universe

If we look at it as all one big 'cause and effect' factory... Star Trek: Enterprise exists in both time tracks.

Re: Bring me a six-pack from the engineering!

That's not very encouraging ;)

It's truly a poor book.
I'll skip it then.

I enjoyed Enterprise: The First Adventure. The main story's a bit weak, but I found the characters' pre-TOS backstories fascinating. Chekov's age is wrong here too, and Rand's is even wronger. If that ruins it for you, or the idea of the whole crew getting together prior to "Where No Man...", skip it (although the next book, Strangers From the Sky, has all the crew changes setting up "Where No Man...") if not, give it a try. There's a glowing quote from Gene Rodenberry himself on the back.

You might also want to give Shatner's Collision Course a try. His version of a young Kirk (17) is pretty much the STXI one. Kirk and Spock meet in the back of a police car:lol:.

All that messing with history in Enterprise created the TOS/TNG/etc timeline. The USS Defiant (originally from "The Tholian Web") computer records in "In a Mirror, Darkly" and Riker's holoprogram in "These Are The Voyages" (set during "The Pegasus") indicate that Enterprise happened in the past of TOS and TNG.

And the terrorists win!

Not really, 'coz none of the TCW baddies got what they wanted out of it.
