Nemisis revisted

Upon watching this movie again, I really believe that it is the best overall movie in the entire franchise. The plot is fairly smart, acting is good, and it has the most epic feel of any of the trek movies. TPTB should have used this movie as a launchpad for a possible television revival.

Television revival of what? They couldn't afford Patrick Stewart (at least not on a TV budget; not to mention, he's happy as a clam doing Shakespeare back in England and wouldn't want to commit to another long TV series again), and Brent Spiner wanted Data killed off in the movie prior to this one because he was getting too old to play the role. So there's the two most popular characters on the show gone before you even write the first episode.

:rommie: Good one. I know another one. It goes like that: A monk, a clone, and a Ferengi decided to go bowling together ...

I've always thought, and everyone I've spoken to about it has always thought, that Nemesis is a bad movie all round, and as Star Trek it's an abomination. Going from not liking it to liking it - I just don't get that at all. Normally for me it's the other way around, like with First Contact. I wouldn't go near that one again.

I enjoyed it greatly, but I realize why others may have not. Based on that, I don't think that it would have worked as a TV revival...which I am uncertain with what the poster actually means by that.

I think that it was a good movie, good NOT great IMHO

I dont think I would go even that far, at best I would say it was ok. To many clichés for my liking.

To be fair though, I think the story was good but the direction was terrible. If the director was used to directing Trek (maybe Nimoy, Meyer or even a TNG director) then it could have been a better film.

It's shit. It's the worst Star Trek movie of all time, and it's flat out an awful regular movie to boot. The plot makes ZERO sense...why the romulans would clone a starfleet officer who magically ends up being a celebrated captain of the flagship...the whole thing of that human clone becoming their leader...the reman vampire people...the cringe-worthy, fucking awful stuff about 'B4' and Data "dying"...it's just shit.

As they say on the internet, EPIC FAIL.

I agree that it was the best of the TNG movie bunch, a T-giving rerlease date would have doubled the gross

I know casual ST fans who really liked it

Yeah, I heard there are some who even like the first season of TNG. :wtf:

I love the first season of TNG. I attribute that to some very fond memories, so it makes them sweeter for me.

I was so glad to have Trek back on the air, I would have watched anything. Which explains why I am not as fond of season one.
Later the show improved. Thank the Lords of Kobal they finally gave the bridge officers more than TMP-like pajamas, too.
