Nemisis revisted

Season 1 of TNG did benefit from some interesting camera angles and experiments. In many ways, it's the last Trek to exist before the oh-so comfortable and familiar 24th century/ENT trek we settled into for the next 15 years or so. So it is a curiosity at least.

Nemesis was crap. Poor direction, poor editing, tired action, uninspired characters and performances, random ill-explained plot-device technologies, hollow emotions, komedy, uninspired 'kwel' new ship bearing a very close resemblance to the DS9 dominion dreadnought. A few nice effects, though.

Upon watching this movie again, I really believe that it is the best overall movie in the entire franchise. The plot is fairly smart, acting is good, and it has the most epic feel of any of the trek movies. TPTB should have used this movie as a launchpad for a possible television revival.

Geez... might add cred if you could actually SPELL the name of the film right.

The plot is terrible (Shinzon wants to whack humans because of the treatment he received at the hands of Romulans). WTF?

Stewart essentially "phoned in" his performance... as well as the rest of the TNG folks.

This film, and Enterprise, essentially killed the franchise.... and it should have been laid to rest based on the fecality we have received.

Recall Berman essentially said "whatever we produce, fans will accept because its Star Trek".

While it isn't the best Star Trek movie, I for one really enjoyed it. It did get a little boring in the middle, but in general I thought it was an enjoyable movie. I personally have a hard time understanding the hatred aimed both at Nemesis and Enterprise, which I also happened to enjoy.

The battle scenes were good, but other than that, I hated it.

  • Breaking up the crew.
  • ActionHeroPicard and Data run the show again.
  • The numerous plot holes as pointed out by this (You have to laugh).

When I left the cinema I knew TNG, and Trek itself, was truly and utterly dead.

I thought that synopsis was pretty funny.

I didn't mind Nemesis but the part with the Mad Max-style buggy chase really pissed me off.

I'll rewrite this quote for greater accuracy:

Upon watching this movie again, I really believe that it is the worst overall movie in the entire franchise. The plot is fairly stupid, acting is poor, and it has the least epic feel of any of the trek movies. TPTB used this movie to justify canning TV Trek.
