Neelix Had Some Great Episodes Throughout the Series

Maybe if everyone ridiculed everybody it would be fairier. Or funner.

Undoubtedly so. I was raised Southern Baptist, but they pretty much lost me when the fundamentalists took control of the organization and said something to the effect of 'if you don't believe what we believe, you're no longer a Southern Baptist', which to me was contrary to their previous stance of religious tolerance.

I'm not sure what I believe now, I may be some sort of agnostic. I don't know what God is, but I don't think he's some old guy with a beard sitting in a chair.

Maybe Neelix is God, in which case I'm really screwed.

I have a long and complicated church background which I never think about. I'm not an atheist, it seems to be as much work as being a believer. I'm basically just bored by the whole topic.

I tried going to church after Dad died, but of course it wasn't the same. So I've been 42 years without. And I don't miss it.

So... how about that Neelix?

I had no religious upbringing, and very few of any one I knew had as well, so there was no persecution, really it was the "faithful" who were persecuted, ever so lightly... But I did see Star Trek 6.

So... how about that Neelix?

He lost faith in the episode Mortal Coil after Seven brought him back form the dead and he didn't go to heaven to see his sister.

Without religion to back up his chipperness he turned into a surly pessimistic sourpuss.

I thought he was weak because of this.

How does he know Talaxian heaven doesn't kick in after your body has totally decayed?

I thought Mortal Coil was an excellent show in approaching the subject of faith, and one of Ethan's best works.

Or maybe they didn't let him in because he had that Ocampan Lung?

Or was his soul was confused?

Just enough of it wanted to go to Ocampan Heaven, that in a deadlock he got nowhere final before Seven pulled him back.

Blame Kes.

Well, after a lung transplant, listening to Chakotay's animal guide/spirit wheel crap, B'Elanna's Sto-vo-kor stuff, and Seven's worshipping the last letter in the Greek alphabet, it's no wonder Neelix was confused.

Maybe only half of him got pulled back.

So when he dies next time... He's going to meet his younger self in the forest and they'll have to fight over resources

You think he'd go back into the machine for moral advice?

(Kathryn and Leonardo?)

I don't think Chakotay will want his lsd machine back after Neelix had finished soiling it.

And then... After the crew realizes that they do after all really need a Morale Officer...

An Intervention!

I drink, smoke, cuss, all those things one shouldn't do. And life's a lot more fun.
Those aren't in the !0 Commandments, so I think you're safe.
Besides, isn't the blood of Christ represented as wine?

That would have been awful! She was sickeningly wise enough without putting a halo on it. Blech.
:guffaw:

Honestly, was Kes wise or was she just taught good common sense?
