If I recall correctly it wasn't expressly said, but we do know that he was named in honor of Jackson Gibbs business partner. It was implied that Jethro was what his first wife Shannon called him.

Maybe Belisario decided Jethro was only slightly less embarrassing than Leroy.

I really liked this episode...however, I'm not used to the storyline with O'Donnel's character and LL Cool J's character. It looks like O'Donnel's character might be dead..but I thought he was gonna be in the new spin-off of NCIS with LL Cool J in the fall. Wonder if I missed something here?

Perhaps not. In the JAG backdoor pilot for NCIS they had an agent signed who they fired on the first day of filming for NCIS because of low ratings with the test group.

I was terrified that Masey was gonna turn out to be yet another past love interest of Gibbs. The way they handled that made alot more sense.

Personally, I do not like the "Legends" cast. To me it is a blatant attempt to take the NCIS format but "sex it up" (younger cast, California location).

I didn't like those people much either. No personality, especially the woman boss. I hate it when they waste 2 NCIS shows to introduce another show that looks poor and humorless.
