NCIS franchise

more indications, that NCIS Sydney will get a larger season 3 by episode count. (8 in Season 1, 10 in Season 2):

  • They've been put on the CBS Fall Schedule to create a NCIS night on Tuesdays with the OG and the Origins airing prior.
  • Also, there is nothing scheduled to replace it in the spring either.

Yeah, that's a pretty good indication Sydney will have a longer season, likely eighteen or twenty episodes, like OG and Origins had this past season. Yeah, I know, I previously dismissed the idea of Sydney having twenty episodes, I guess I have to admit to being wrong with that prediction. Though if it does in fact only have eighteen, I am still technically correct, though it still has more than the thirteen to fifteen episodes I had predicted.

Not too enthused about having all three shows on Tuesdays, mostly because Tuesdays are inconvenient for me as that's when I work the evening shift where I work. Yeah, I know, first world problems, especially when you factor in On Demand and streaming options make it possible to watch the shows whenever it's convenient.

I'd love to buy that show on DVD or Blu Ray some time in the future.
Then you're probably in luck, Paramount+ does do physical media releases of most if not all its original productions, usually within six months or less of the streaming release. With this show finishing up in October, the physical media release could be as early as January or February 2026

I wonder if they’ll do an Origins crossover eventually. Like a case that gets started but not solved in origins gets solved in NCIS
I imagine such a storyline might be difficult. Realistically, if the modern NCIS team got involved with a cold case like that, they'd want to talk to the original team. Can't talk to Gibbs as he's off the grid in Alaska. Can't talk to Franks as he's dead and his ghost is haunting Gibbs. That leaves Randy and Dominguez, but whether they show up or have their absence explained means Origins is stuck to what their fate is.
Well, looks like I was wrong on that one. A crossover storyline between OG NCIS and Origins is coming this November.

The Ziva and Tony spin off started today with a 3 episode premiere, haven’t watched it yet. I’ll probably watch episode 1 before college in the morning

I watched the Tiva show. It’s fun. Very different to every other NCIS show out there. Show did forget about Covid though. There are flashbacks to 2020 and no mention of the pandemic.

I enjoyed the triple episode premiere of Tony and Ziva, great fun. Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are gold together, while the new characters introduced are also enjoyable characters. Tony's assistant Claudette in particular is a highlight of the series so far.

I did too. They've done a pretty good job setting things up so far. The new characters fit right in as well.
