NCIS franchise

I imagine such a storyline might be difficult. Realistically, if the modern NCIS team got involved with a cold case like that, they'd want to talk to the original team. Can't talk to Gibbs as he's off the grid in Alaska. Can't talk to Franks as he's dead and his ghost is haunting Gibbs. That leaves Randy and Dominguez, but whether they show up or have their absence explained means Origins is stuck to what their fate is.

i'm rewatching, and i'm about to finish season 2.

i miss kate so much. i don't want this season to end. the early chemistry and mix of characters on this show was outstanding. almost lightning in a bottle.

if they did it, it would have to be a 3 part flashback issue, where they can have the current team (whoever they are, i haven't watched in a few years, but i am watching origins) flash back to a year that still has gibbs (if they can get him), and then have the team solve it in the present.

Yeah.

They might try to connect it to a standalone episode during the Kate years or early in the Ziva years, and say Gibbs didn't realize it was connected but something happens that makes McGee (make him familiar with the incident in Origins or whatever) realize those two is connected after a crime happens in the present day.

Interesting Sydney season 2 opener in multiple ways. Looking forward to more adventures.

Oh, so

Rankin's not actually dirty, then?

Damn. I always thought it was so obvious.

I'm happy that NCIS was renewed, but I'm surprised. 22 seasons is a very long time.

NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order: SVU can go on forever. There's an audience that's sticking with them no matter how bad or boring it gets. For budget purposes, it helps that there's a large amount of cast turnover. If Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and Cote de Pablo never left and were still there, that might make them rethink things.

Its funny when you think of how many older shows stopped just because they had gone so long and felt like it was time. If they had known what was to come, and that shows really could last this long, we might have gotten a few more years of some long lived classics.

Hill Street - 7
LA Law - 8
Homicide - 7
NYPD Blue - 12

Even the CSIs were short-lived compared to NCIS and the Law and Order franchise. lol.

the cast changes have probably helped a lot with keeping NCIS going.

reading in the L&O thread, it seems that SVU has largely become the Olivia Benson show and that other characters and actors have largely been pushed to the side and given the scraps.

Sean Murray is only five years younger than Mark Harmon was when NCIS started. Maybe give him a bigger job.. Maybe they'll finally give him that deputy director job after they reveal why there was something off about him like McGee thought.

I honestly hope thats the show's endgame.... he starts as probie....ends up as director. full circle.... and now a fitting parallel with Origins.

I wish they had done more with the Jag revival talks and appearance a few years ago.

Sydney's 2nd season has been entertaining so far.
Too bad we only get 10 episodes a season.

JD's
vest/gillet thing was hilarious all episode long, especially when he "searched" in each pocket for the key and when the bio weapons specialist told him, his vest would NOT have to be destroyed, since it's quality was so good, it was safe

It's only 8 episodes.

I didn't quite get their excitement over eventually getting new jackets etc, have they not had NCIS kit before? At least Mackey abs DeShawn should have had them, now if the intent is it would be NCIS Sydney on it not just NCIS, that'd have been different.
