NCIS franchise

Austin Stowell (Whiplash, Bridge of Spies, Battle of the Sexes) has been cast as.... Leroy Jethro Gibbs in NCIS: Origins.

Interesting. I would have thought that the producers would have gone with Mark Harmon's son, since he already appeared in a couple of flashback episodes as a young Gibb's.

Although Sean Harmon is a producer on the series, the initial announcement for NCIS Origins made it clear he would not be playing young Gibbs in the show.

Meanwhile, can't say I'm familiar with this Austin Stowell, though looking over his IMDB shows he's been on the NCIS franchise before, he guest starred in the episode Special Delivery from the second season of Los Angeles.

When I'm working from home, I turn the TV to Ion for background noise. They air several episodes of shows in a row like Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods, Chicago Fire and so forth. Their NCIS schedule is currently on the "Perrette refuses to work with Harmon" episodes, and it's kind of funny to see it happen over and over again.

Season 15, her last, is unintentionally funny due to how obvious they were about keeping the two of them separate. Gibbs never goes to the lab that season at all, and what limited interaction there is between him and Abby is always done through phone calls or video chats so that Harmon and Perrette are never on set together.

The episode that was airing when I turned it on had Abby and Gibbs talking to each other in the same location, but there was never a shot with the both of them in it. Then it becomes more noticeable when Abby interacts with other agents in the same frame.

What was the story behind that again? Wasn't it something to do with Mark Harmon's dog being on set and biting someone and Perrette wanted the dog banned, but Harmon, being an executive producer had final say, so the dog stayed.

IIRC, the dog bit Perrette herself and while there had been much "unofficial" complaints about the dog causing trouble on the set prior to that, no one wanted to speak up against the show's lead actor and executive producer, which led to Perrette's frustrations after being bit about a situation that never should have been allowed to begin with. After being bit, she made an official complaint about it, but as no one else was willing to speak up on the matter, the studio wrote it off as an isolated incident, issued Harmon a slap on the wrist and tried to bury the incident.

It’s a g’day to be a fan of NCIS: Sydney.
  • Renewed for Season 2
  • Production will begin in the next few months (during what the yanks call “spring”).
  • Season 2 will premiere on CBS during the 2024-25 TV season; an exact date has not yet been set.

“We’re beyond stoked with the response to the first season of the show, both in Australia and around the world, and that the team at NCIS: Sydney is returning for a second season,” showrunner Morgan O’Neill said in a statement. “We’re especially thrilled to invite our audience deeper into the lives of our core team, peeling back the layers to find out what really makes them tick.
This will be even more important as we see the bonds of the new family tested to breaking point in the face of a much more potent enemy looming on the horizon….”

double plus good :)

Interesting that season 2 of Sydney will also air on CBS. I get it, S1 was a ratings hit, so they'd be foolish not to run S2. But assuming OG and Hawai'i are also renewed (which I'm guessing they likely will be) than that means the 24/25 season will have four NCIS shows running on CBS. Granted, Sydney will likely have fewer episodes than OG, Hawai'i and Origins.

5 if they’re also doing the show Ziva and de nozzle or is that going to streaming (have zero interest in it so haven’t read any thing about it).
