Oh yes, Agent Lee is on the Gibbs radar.

Another good episode, but those 'You've done something bad, I know it, you know it, I'm gonna find proof that you've misbehaved and on that day, there will be Justice' looks from Gibbs were the highlights for me.

I loved the whole "crazy uncle" bit at the start of the show. I actually burst out with an audible chuckle during that.

So no one has anything to say about Anthony Montgomery's 30-second role?
Gaaaah! I forgot he told us at Vegas he was going to be in an episode of NCIS (he also acknowledged the appearance would be brief). I'm just happy he wasn't a corpse or a bad guy. And he obviously was the only "witness" who knew what he was talking about. Nice.

And he still looks gooood.

Maybe Langer's "brother" Jack Malone from the FBI missing persons unit can show up to help bring Lee down. :p
I don't understand why they just didn't get his "brother" Frank Parker to travel back seven days before his death and save him.

I enjoyed the comments about the show at the opening of this thread... the characters/actors are the best part of the show (my favorite scenes are Gibbs with kids).

I voted average because I expect NCIS to be great and it is -- week after week.

... I got the feeling that hunky Marine will be back... (fingers crossed... I really like him!).

And yeah, Gibbs' move in the bar at the end ... Lee is going down and it ain't gonna be pretty!!
I'm with you JiNX, I love Gibbs with kids. Mark Harmon seems to really like kids and be good with them *swoons* *faints* *wakes up* and I sooooooooooo love that about him.....along with just about everything else about him. Dammit, sorry, I digress....again.

I also hope that marine will be back, I liked him too.

I do wonder how they're going to wrap all that up with Lee...I have a feeling that it's going to get nasty.

I figure one of two ways: Bullet or Gitmo. And she'll have it coming.

After all, Gibbs already hated her for being a lawyer!

I do wonder why all the hate for lawyers on this show given that the show had its foundations in JAG

Gibbs et.al. don't like being told they can't do what's necessary (tho' not necessarily legal) to solve a crime or save a life.

I can't grade the current episode (and probably won't read many of the posts in this thread due to spoilers), because I am really behind on this show...being one of those newer viewers mentioned in the article posted by the OP.

I started watching this show only recently and totally by accident. I'm not a big fan of CSI, L&O or any of those shows, and I've never even seen an episode of JAG....so I pretty much ignored this show until recently. But I used to like that show Mark Harmon was on several years ago...and so when I was mindlessly flipping through the channels one day when I was taking an at-home vacation day, and came across this show, I gave it a try.

Long story short - I agree with Michael Weatherly - it is not somber/sober (ie 'boring and tedious' like so many procedural shows are for me). This show has got a unique personality, and I like it. The characters are all likeable...and there is a character or two for every possible taste because they are all so different from each other.

I also like the fact that this show does not take itself too seriously. The humor is great...and while at first I thought Gibbs was gonna be the least humorous character on the show, the more I watched the more I realize that in many ways the exact opposite is true. Also, I like the fact that, despite the 'military' setting, the show does very well at supporting a character like Abby - the message being 'we don't care how you dress...we just want the most talented and best suited person for the job'. In particular, I really get a kick out of the relationship between Gibbs and Abby - it's almost like a father/daughter thing, despite the fact that they are nothing alike in terms of personality or interests.

I also like the fact that, even in the 30 - 40 or so episodes I've seen so far, we see that all of these characters have their strengths and their weaknesses. For example, Gibbs is, on the surface, a tough former marine...but his murdered wife and child are always there in the background, informing some of his key choices and relationships. As another example, I recently saw an episode where we saw Ducky dealing with his past as well - the case of the Lt. Jane Doe who he was never able to identify.

Long story short, I only watch two procedural shows - this show and Bones. Bones had a hook for me bacause of David Boreanaz. But NCIS grapped me all on it's own, with no help from an actor who happened to be key player in Buffyverse.

And interestingly, both shows have kept me on the sofa primarily because of the use of humor and interplay between the (very different from each other) central characters.

I bought the first season of NCIS on DVD a few weeks back, and just ordered the rest during the Deep Discount DVD sale.

Wish I'd watched it all along...but glad I can get caught up, because it's a good show.

I get that Gibbs doesn't love following the law to perfection

Personally, I would love to see an episode with Commander Bud Roberts from the good ol' JAG show :D

Didn't Sasha Alexander leave on bad terms or something? Maybe that's why we didn't see a picture of Kate up there.

And I discovered NCIS pretty much the same way you did, PKTrekGirl. I hadn't watched a full episode until after the season before this one had finished, and ended up going through the entire series through the summer to get caught up in time for the current season. It's got a charm that just about every other crime procedural lacks, I think. :techman:

I don't think so
I'm pretty sure she just wanted an opportunity to do movies and was granted release... She returned to close up her character in the following seasons premier, so I don't think she left on bad terms

Ah. I remember reading about Belisario not being happy with her for leaving all of a sudden, or something like that. I dunno, I can't remember now.

The story I read was Alexander quit because a full-season schedule as a regular character was too much for her (of course, her schedule was nothing compared to what Kiefer Sutherland and Scott Bakula had to deal with).

Considering her 30-second part in Mission: Impossible III, she better not have left to pursue movies.

Agreed. These characters are really easy to warm up to, and the crimes themselves are often very interesting, sometimes even including a cool plot twist to end the whole thing up.

At first, I thought "Jeez...what an odd cast - everyone is so different from each other that there is bound to be a real unevenness there in how they treat the characters." But actually, the fact that they are so different really works in their favor - makes the personal interactions just that much cooler and more fun. With most of these crime procedurals, I can barely remember all the characters' names - a billion CSI shows with a fairly large cast on each...all of whom act alike and look alike and who only talk about work. I can't warm up to any of them. Watching those shows makes me feel like I'm at work - there's no fun in them. They just feel cold and morbid.

But this show isn't like that. This show has a heart (and even more importantly, a sense of humor). And that is a very good thing. :)

Glad I'm not the only one that came late to the party though. Can't believe I'm only starting to watch this so far along in the show.:lol:

She's just got a lead role in CBS's comedy series "The Karenskys.":
