I do wonder why all the hate for lawyers on this show given that the show had its foundations in JAG

I remember the two part JAG episode that launched NCIS.

Tony Dinoza interrogated the guy on JAG who had murdered Lt. Singer and set up Harmon Rabb for it.

He told the guy "I love interrogating doctors and lawyers. Because you all think you are so smart".

Speaking of JAG, are we due for an NCIS spinoff soon?

Gibbs is shot in the line of duty! And the only doctors who can save him come from NNMC: National Naval Medical Center!

From the creators of JAG and NCIS... comes NNMC...

Starring Christian Slater, Angela Bassett, Allison Mack, Russell Wong, Connor Trinneer, Kim Raver and Tom Berenger.

This fall... only on CBS.

That's funny, considering that mark harmon played a doctor on Chicago Hope, which I think was on CBS...

Yes, Chicago Hope was on CBS.

At this rate, I'm sure CBS is considering an NCIS spinoff. The ratings have kept climbing every season. Maybe DiNozzo finally accepts a promotion and gets his own team? NCIS: San Diego? :p

"For the second week in a row, a repeat of CBS's NCIS has drawn more viewers than any other offering on Friday night. The result -- the two episodes averaged 11 million viewers each -- is particularly extraordinary given the fact that it had replaced The Ex List, which was yanked off the network's schedule because of low ratings. Last week, an all-new episode of NCIS on Tuesday night attracted 18.8 million viewers. Today's (Monday) New York Times observed that the top ratings for the drama have come despite the fact that the series is six years old, lands on few magazine covers, enjoys almost no love from critics and never gets a sniff of a nomination for prestigious awards." In an interview with the newspaper, writer-producer Shane Brennan, credited with "breathing life" into the franchise, said, "The Emmys don't have a category for us," but if it did it would have to be something like "hugely popular but not critically acclaimed dramas."

I love NCIS, all the more because it does its own thing all while essentially flipping the finger to the critics and other blowhards...uh, I mean, "experts." As many others have pointed out: the cases/mysteries themselves aren't what draw people to the show; it's the characters and their interpersonal dynamics that we enjoy, and not the long-tired emo/whiney crap that infests so many "dramas."

Keep chuggin', Gibbs and Co.! :techman:

You know, Gibbs is pretty damn emo when he wants to be.

Actually, I think I'd seriously watch this.

I think it would be quite interesting to see DiNozzo running the show. I think it would force a huge evolution in that character cus he'd have to majorly grow up.

NCIS: Miami

"Who put the warrant out... (puts on sunglasses) ...on the chief warrant officer?"

I agree. DiNozzo's already shown that he can lead a team, and he would definitely have a different leadership style than Gibbs'. I'd almost be more interested in seeing what kind of team they'd give him to play off of.
