I likem dem turrets :) :techman:

I'm kinda liking how your pulling off her rather organic design.

And I kind of like the turrets. They're like larger versions of the phaser rifles. I'm not sure about the external power feeds though. I would think that power couplings and the like would be hidden out of view to make them less vulnerable. Not only that, but the way that they are attached would also limit the weapon's range of movement.

She probably should have at least an S.S. before the name, and most vessels that I've seen have their names in all caps.

The registry of NCC-8419 suggests that the Apocalypse is from I guess somewhere in the range of 2280-2290ish? The nacelles do seem a little like the Constitution refit, suggesting that possibility.

However, an NCC registry usually suggests a Starfleet vessel, and I believe you hinted that the Apocalypse is supposed to be non-Starfleet, so maybe a registry prefix like NAR would be more appropriate?

I forgot to show you the luminance effect on my textures. So, I put some round phasers. Texture part of the engines.

JES, I am not knowledgeable in the ST 'verse to the point of being consider a technical reference (Although I can speak like Shatner). That said, it's a federation starship but made from a colony, that is kind of a mix of cultures. That's why the ship has a distinctive look. The naming and all that...well, it would be a pain to change it at this point...so I would be entice to find any kind of justification, to explain it ;) .

Personally, I'd say something like

"It was built an a time period where Starfleet had decided to omit USS from the paint scheme and just go with the ship's name and hull number"

That way, you don't need to change it, and it still kind of fits, if the ship is made sometime in the future, after DS9/VOY.

I was under the impression that the registry and name was still a work in progress, since they are backwards on one side.
I guess there could be exceptions, such as maybe the person in charge of the project and would-be-captain was a retired Starfleet officer, and was able to have some strings pulled to give her an NCC registry for nostalgia's sake. If she were a non-military/militia only vessel, there is probably room for speculation of what the protocols for registry would be for a private or locally owned defensive vessel. I believe that real-world wise, there are cases of private and corporate-owned vessels that lack a prefix.

Been a while since i did something. Of course, being hurt to the wrist doesn't help. Holding a mouse is rather painful. So it slowed down a bit...Anyway I did the reflector dish, and some part of the back saucer.

Done the back saucer section. I am also trying to use the less decals possible. Using boole for the windows, although it has some bugs when you have multiples objects.

You know, this reminds me of what ships between TNG and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century would look like--kind of an Earth Directorate look to it--very clean.
