NCAA Football 2008 Discussion - It All Starts Here.

Auburn fired Tony Franklin, author of the new 'Spread Eagle' offense halfway through his first season. Coach Tuberville still plans to run the Spread, and a game against Arkansas may be just what they need to rack up some offensive stats.

Alternately, Arkansas remains in the game because the Spread Eagle ends up dry-humping once more.

My stupid "job" kept me from seeing any of the early games. So I missed that epic Red River Shootout.

However, I did hear Michigan lose to Toledo on the radio. Geez, what the hell is wrong with Rich Rod? Can he not get his players to perform under pressure, or hold onto the ball?

An ugly second half by USC's offense, but the defense was great all day.

Ugly is not strong enough a term.

5 turnovers in the second half? 5??

That has to be the worst shutout victory in Trojans history! Thank God for our defense.

How about Erikson calling timeout with 10 seconds left trying to avoid the shutout? It would have served them right if USC had returned that interception all the way.

Joe Biden's at the Blue Hens - Maine Black Bears game right now. Otherwise the game is a relatively boring game between two teams who's offenses are struggling.

I would have done the same thing, btw. It shows the players that the coach isn't going to cede defeat until only zeroes show on the clock. You may be down 28, but you never give up. This will only help ASU down the line.

Except that USC intercepted it and ran it back 60 yards.

Actually, I get your point.

It just wasn't ASU's day.

Yes, I saw that too. :p ;)

The Oregon Ducks get the UCLA Bruins at home tonight (7:30 PDT). If there's anyone Duck fans hate it's Neuheisel, who ran a fake punt against them when he was up 32-6 in the fourth quarter of a bowl game when he was coaching Colorado. Of course, he also coached Washington which is justification enough for any Duck fan to hate him.

Let me just say this .... Penn St. has finally convinced me how good they are. I know Wisconsin is banged up some, but man.... PSU is whipping them badly 41-7 right now... in Madison! Personally, I don't think they will lose a game this year, and that includes when they come to Ohio St in a couple of weeks.

Congrats to the Nittany Lions staff for the job they are doing this year!!

Congrats on the Ohio State win Neroon. I wasn't tremendously impressed, but hey, a win is a win, especially in conference play.

The defense played very well, but I am at a loss as to what the heck is confoozling the offense!!

And did anyone really think that Florida would be going medieval on LSU's butt like this tonight?? And that the #1, #2 and #3 teams would ALL lose on the same day? The way Texas apparently looked today, it's going to be a tossup as to who is the new #1 this week.
