NBC's 2010/2011 schedule

Out of interest, how many new one-hour dramas did they pick up last year ? They appear to have only renewed one of them.
They picked up a lot less scripted programming last year because of the Leno show. Parenthood, Mercy, and Trauma were their three freshman one-hour shows for the 2009/2010 season. The latter two have been cancelled. They also ordered Day One to series, but that was recut into a four-hour mini instead and still hasn't been scheduled to air.

Meh. I've given up on NBC, and most of broadcast television (with a few notable exceptions). There's nothing coming up on NBC's fall schedule that I will check out.

That's fucking pathetic, seriously. I should become a tv executive, I could do a hundred times better than the morons who run NBC today.

At least they're diverse. CBS may be No. 1, but if they were running NBC they'd be giving us:

Chuck
Chuck: Las Vegas
Chuck: Miami

Law & Order
Law & Order: SVU
Law & Order: CI
Law & Order: Los Angeles
Law & Order: Crime Scene Unit

Looks like Chuck is it.

At the rate they're going, Chuck is going to break the record for the longest-running drama on TV. :D

From your keyboard to God's ears, make it so!

I am feeling like Chuck will have a life much like Seinfeld had. Pretty much dismissed and in danger of cancellation early on, only to evolve into a fan favorite and able to continue until the main players decide to call it quits.

^ I don't think so.

They have given it several seasons so far and no one is still watching it. The only reason they keep it around is because it has a small fanbase and NBC is in the shitter.

I just cant believe they dumped Heroes for The Cape. i dont see it getting much of a following, so they might have been better off keeping Heroes. and at the rate NBC's going, none of those new shows will make it far past one season. prime examples? Trauma, Mercy, The Listener--which I liked, Merlin, all that went for 1 season, and even the crime show Life was cancelled after 2 seasons even WITH fairly good ratings.

^^^
Likewise, The Listener is produced by Canada's CTV and has been renewed for a second season. Whether NBC picks that second season up, as they did the first, remains to be seen.

I see no problems with that lineup. :)

There are new - much better - previews up on NBC.com now. Here's the preview for The Cape.

So...basically Batman without any edge or style. :rommie:

#1 - LA is absolutely the wrong place to set this story. We have so many lovely decaying urban rustbelt cities like Cleveland and Detroit that would work so much better! I'm sick of half the shows being set in LA and the other half in "Seattle" (ie Vancouver).

#2 - Sigh, another case of a miscast lead. Even in the few previews I've watched, it's obvious that the guy has the charisma of a soap dish. His line readings are wimpy.

#3 - Still no James Frain! They should shove him front & center in all the previews. He's the best asset they've got.

I just watched the preview for The Cape. Does Keith David turn out to be Ra's al Ghul in the final episode?

And since FlashForward, I mean, The Event is an arc-based show, it'll be axed after 9 episodes.

I'm guessing BigFoot will have to watch Outlaw since Carly Pope is in it. ;)

Just read the descriptions of these shows properly.

What a load of uninspired, unimaginative garbage. NBC and everyone else can quit complaining about piracy and people skipping ads on their DVRs. The real reason TV audiences are dropping is because everything they come up with is utter crap.

I agree.

I watch Law and Order, Bones, House, Lost and The Middle. That's it, and if I miss any episodes from any of those shows I just don't care because none of them are that amazing.
