NBC and Bryan Fuller remaking The Munsters

Yeah, I wonder whay would happen then. Sounds like NBC has already decided against it, but why would they show it at all if they plan to ignore kickass ratings, if that occurred? That would just infuriate viewers. Better to bury it quietly as per usual with failed pilots.

It did cost ten million dollars to produce. Halloween marks the perfect opportunity to air it as a special and get back some of that investment. Most people won't even know that it was originally intended to go to series.

People aren't used to one-offs, especially on broadcast. The natural assumption is that a Halloween special for all new characters and premise is a preliminary to a real series. If people really like it, they will expect something to show up the following week.

Even worse, the networks are having a lousy season so far. It would be easy for viewers to get angry that the networks shove crap at them, yet refuse to greenlight something good (if, in fact, it is good and popular).

I feel like leading the charge for a fan revolt to get the show greenlit, just to cause chaos. In the spirit of the season.

Well, I'm sure everyone is still under contract. If it does well enough, they will probably go ahead with it.

It was nice to finally get a good look at the cast. Not what I was expecting, but I have enough faith in Brian Fuller that I'm still confident it will be good.

lets see, a modern family with a vampire wife & grandfather, a reanimated corpse for a huband, a werewolf son & a normal daughter. Yeah i can kinda of see how this could fit the Dead Like Me/ Pushing Daisies mold.

It looks like it could be pretty good.:)

It looks like fun to me, but it's very easy to miss the connection to The Munsters altogether. Losing the distinctive makeup really makes a big difference.

There really is no connection to The Munsters except for the recycled names. As far as I'm concerned, it's just a new show. The names will be more of a distraction than a connection.
