Natasha Richardson is dead

I wonder what actually happened. If it was the accident which caused the injury or the injury which caused the accident.

Interesting thought - because by all accounts it wasn't much of a fall, and she was only taken back to the hotel because the ski instructors have rules which say everyone leaves the slopes after an accident to be checked by a doctor.

I caught a clip on the news last night. It was a kid being interviewed who was on the slope where she fell. The way he said "she was doing fine. I mean she just seemed to fall down out of no where."

It just seemed like her fall might have been because her legs went out from under her.

They've been showing B roll of her on the news shows... I've seen her with a cig in her hand a few times in movie set footage. I wonder is she was a smoker and if so how did that contribute to this.

I too think this was a mysterious "John Ritter" style death.

Not that it really matters one way or the other. Very sad no matter what happened.

A terrible loss for her family, but also a terrible loss for the stage. She did a lot of film and television, but the stage was where she really belonged. I wish I could have seen her in Cabaret back in '98. :(

Unless you're standing in a lake of gasoline smoking isn't known for causing sudden death, especially at her age.

My condolences as well to her friends and family.
