Natalie Portman gets knocked up, engaged

I admit that I clicked on this thread with the intention of finger-wagging about useless celebrity gossip, but...

All the other boys laughed at little Ben when he started getting into ballet, but who's laughing now?
:rommie: You win, Cap. You win. :p

I give the union 3yrs tops before 'irreconcilable differences' set in. Any takers?
I'm always astonished when people think they know what's going on or going to happen in someone else's relationship. Would you like it if someone talked about your family that way?
This is Hollywood. I don't know why actors bother getting married at all. Maybe they like the publicity.

Not to mention there's something actually a little sad about a nearly thirty year old Harvard graduate who doesn't know enough to use birth control.

Well Padme and Anakin never heard of birth control either and they live in a society with freakin FTL spaceships, so I gotta give her a pass. :rommie:

How very un-g-man of you to unilaterally rule out condom sabotage in order to produce this very result, a marriage, and lucrative divorce settlement. :p

I still can't believe there is a straight ballet dancer, or at least one who want want to bone a pile of... bones.

I sense a great disturbance in the force...as if millions of voices cried out in disappointment and were suddenly silenced.

I think it's funny how everyone assumes none of us here know any of these people. TrekBBS is a BIG board.

As to the thread topic, I wish Natalie and Ben -- and their baby -- the best. I understand the skepticism completely, but I'm a romantic. I hope in fifty years, they are all laughing at the jaded naysayers as they celebrate their golden anniversary with their undoubtedly gorgeous (by then very adult) child.

Do you know this person? Are you able to say with any evidence that the pregnancy is not intentional? Or are you just making an assumption?

I really hope I am wrong, I hope they will be happy and that their baby doesn't get fucked up by this whole mess, but that would be incredibly rare and I don't see that happening here.

In my experience, including approximately ten years as a family law attorney, whenever a couple gets engaged after or at approximately the same time as finding out the female is pregnant, the pregnancy was unplanned.

I'm sure there are exceptions but the likelihood is very rare.

In other words, you don't know these people and you're making an assumption based upon no evidence.
