Nasty Characters Masquerading As Good - Willow Rosenberg

This isn't televsion, it's a public forum, if you don't like my colorful language you can leave (which by the lack of censorship, i'm sure nothing i did was against any forum rules).

Was not expecting so many babies.

You're right, it is a public forum, and language is not censored here. It's just that if you refrained from using the more colorful language and tried to get your point across without it, more people would take you seriously.

You're wrong on one thing though, we're adults here, and we expect to engage other adults. If you still can't understand why people (not all, but most) are not taking you seriously, you still have some growing up to do.

If 'colorful' language prevents you from reading a clearly articulated thread, and you feel the need to repeat what's already been said by others umpteen times, then I can't really help you.

Don't feel the need to excuse my language or my register, and I'm surprised by the babyishness. On re-reading my original thread, it's actually not even as bad as I thought. People think two-faced bitch sounds misogynist? What is this, Christian camp? :guffaw:

th_crying_baby.gif

And fyi, I don't even think I directly called Willow the c word. I just added the word on to the saying 'takes the cake'. Are you sure the real issue isn't pressed fans of Willow taking umbrage?

Good luck in the real world, you won't get very far.

Leia you don't have my power. I don't need to live in the real world as long as I have the black arts at my disposal.

Bored now.

Let the flaying commence.

On the upside, this thread is really helping me to understand DarkWillow's mindset.

Truth.

6.1 - Bargaining:And ripping your friend from heaven back to the dull-as-dishwater Earth because you 'miss' her? Really? Shocking lack of morals, truly reprehensible.

Look, there's legitimate things to criticize Willow's character for, but picking up on just one bit of rambling: this is truly ridiculous. At the time of "Bargaining" nobody - not Willow, nor Xander, nor any of the Scoobies - knew where Buffy's soul had gone. In fact it was a significant plot point up through "Once More With Feeling" that Buffy kept it secret and everybody (including Willow) was pretty horrified to learn the truth.

Tweet Joss about it then. He supervised, approved or wrote the Willow arc's, and has given a whole new perspective on her powers and her past use of it. Her overall character arc is being developed to lead up to a world killing Dark Willow that she has apparently always been destined to be.

They're Joss' characters of course, and he can do with them as he will, but that's all pretty terrible. Definitely not gonna be reading those comics now. Though it's probably not the worst thing he's done with one of his characters, Angel Season 4 Cordelia still takes that cake.

Don't buy it. If this is the case, why not resurrect her straight away? Why did Willow wait till Giles had left the country? Spike is furious when he discovers the scoobies didn't tell him they were resurrecting Buffy, and he speculates it's because they thought there was a chance Buffy would come back less than human when she came back. The whole hell dimension thing doesn't make sense - Buffy's corpse was on the Earth at the end of season five, and she hadn't done anything particularly evil. Her being in a hell dimension wasn't even speculation, it was an assumption Willow force fed the scooby gang so she could justify her brazen abuse of magic. And let's not forget the consequences of the spell in Afterlife, and the even bigger concsequences in season 7...

Yea, I know there's Countries where Twat doesn't carry the same connotations as it does here in the States, but, I don't recall ever hearing that the same is true for Vile "C" word. Sure, there will be neighborhoods or close knit groups where words like that are "No Big Deal", but, I'm pretty sure I've never heard/read that it is acceptable decorum in any Country at large.

Can anyone enlighten what Countries it might be acceptable to the population at large?

I think there might be some slight differences in the use of the word between the UK and the US. But just because the UK might be more accepting of the usage of the word, the context in which it is used does matter, because it is no doubt still considered to be the worst profanity that one can use (at least on TV).

http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/itc/uploads/Delete_Expletives.pdf

And in the instance it was used here, I would say was unacceptable. Surely we shouldn't have to resort to using profanities to get our point across.

The word 'twat' is on par with the word 'fool' in the UK..not even as bad as the word 'bitch'. as for the 'c' word, are you making an official ofcom complaint? This isn't televsion, it's a public forum, if you don't like my colorful language you can leave (which by the lack of censorship, i'm sure nothing i did was against any forum rules).

The point is given the international nature of this board, some members might find some of your more colourful language as you put it offensive. Which according to the FAQ's would mean they would alert the Mod(s) for the relevant forum. All most others have asked you to refrain from using profanity. As I said above aside from the international element of this board, one must also consider the ages of the users of the board. Which no doubt vary from young to old, most adults esp. parents would rather people refrain from using profanities in the possible presence of children.

If you want your argument to be taken seriously, then you should frame it intelligently. Foul language just screams the opposite of "intelligent". And yes, I can handle foul language. I use it myself on occasion. Time and place, dude.

And you do have the right to express yourself in any way you want, and nobody has said that you couldn't. So do the rest of us and we have.

ETA: Oh, and bored now.

I think the reason for worrying that Buffy's soul might have been in trouble, was because she had been killed by jumping into that mystical gate that Glory summoned. Although there really wasn't anything specifically suggesting that something bad happened to Buffy's soul, I don't think it was an unnecessary concern either.

To be honest, I've never been able to see Willow's resurrection of Buffy as an unjustifiable move on its own, given the circumstances. It's just that Willow seemed more motivated by personal accomplishment at times. Besides that, I've always wondered what would have happened if they hadn't ever brought Buffy back, given that the then current Slayer was in prison. It didn't take long before Sunnydale was almost trashed by biker demons, so I think there was a little more riding on the possibility of being able to get Buffy back than just her friends missing her.

In the US it is directed at a woman. It's never directed at a man, if only because that wouldn't make much sense.

In the UK it is directed at men.

Apple Goblin, I have an idea...

...and I'm being totally serious here...

Try re-writing your original post using less offensive language, post it in a new thread, and let's see if the discussion is more about Willow Rosenberg and less about your communication skills.

No. 8 pages in two days and a reputation to boot. Not a good reputation, but he'll certainly be remembered for a couple months, even if he never posts here again.

This thread should have been locked or deleted by the admin, but they probably anticipated that that would just make Applegoblin act out creating a dozen other threads sponsored by the He-Man Woman Haters club and the National Organisation of Men Against Amazonian Masterhood.

Most of what she does to Cordelia is justified as was Warren's death.

As for the colorful language, why care?

Whether it's justified or not boils down to opinion. Whether Warren deserved to die would be an endless debate comparable to the death penalty, but I'm pretty sure Willow had no reason to murder Rack or the other two members of the trio

Giles, who has a wiccan background, tells Willow she was lucky to not have killed anyone in the spell. She shouldn't be excused because she was lucky...she could have resurrected a zombie buffy, killed a member of or all the scooby gang, or ended the cosmos. Anyone who practices magic and attempts a resurrection is an irresponsible lunatic. Hello Willow!

As the spell stands, SHE RESSURRECTED BUFFY WHILE SHE WAS BURIED UNDERGOUND. Does she apologise for this? No! Instead she shoves financial debt on her, lives in her house like a parasite and expects somehow to have her black magic life-style funded by someone who has been torn from the heavens?

Willow considers only ONE person in life - and that's Willow Rosenberg.

Reading the rest of the thread, I'm really starting to the OP just doesn't like Willow and is purposefully twisting and misinterpreting things just to make that point.
As for the language, sure there's nothing that says you can't use it, but if you do use that kind of language you can't get pissed if people don't like. Hell, I there are times I swear like a character in a Quentin Tarantino movie, and I even found the post offensive. I don't think it was even necisarily just the language that offended people, as much as the way it was used. Generally people are more OK with swearing if it's used in a general way, than when it's used in reference to a specific person. Especially if it's someone people have an emotional attachment to.

Anyone who likes Willow must be willing to overlook severe sociopathy. Let's have a rundown of her atrocities, shall we?

1. Stabbed a deer to death
2. Shot several humans with lightning bolts
3. Created earth monsters to kill humans
4. Created giant flaming ball to kill humans
5. Erased the memory of several humans
6. Tried to destroy the world
7. Grossly disfigured humans into different creatures and sizes against their will
8. Tried to perform a de-lusting against someone's will. Almost summoned satanic spirits to seek revenge on Oz.
9. Flayed a man alive.
10. Sucked out all of the energy from a human until he died.
11. Lives in Buffy's house rent free.
12. Almost killed Dawn in a car-crash due to being intoxicated by magic.

Lovely girl, isn't she?

At the time of "Bargaining" nobody knew where Buffy's soul had gone.

Don't buy it.

Of course you don't.

Clearly the Worst. Person. Ever. :borg:

Apple, you appear to be new here, so allow me to set the record straight. Foul language is not prohibited on this board, but there is a time and place for everything. This is probably not one of them. ;) Just take it easy on that front.

As for the name-calling ("babies" and the gif and such) .... that's completely unnecessary.

And for the record, "cunt" is considered offensive here, so its usage needs to stop. Your usage may not have been direct, but it's close enough.
