NASA's New Robot Will Take the Plunge ... Into a Volcano

Please remember that many of us are laymen. Personally, I fail to grasp the science of your posts.

Rarely do I find any science being talked about on this forum other than the science of those talking about theirself.

Why is science rarely found this forum? Because this forum is related to science fiction.

There's a few theories as to where the Ark is, but I seriously doubt it's in a volcano. The "Raiders" theory is sort of poetic license (Especially Tanis, which although a real city, was discovered in the 19th century, not recently unearthed and certainly not buried in a sandstorm) although based on some real history.

This gives me an idea. I remember seeing a special on TV years ago, might have been something like Mega Tsunami, about one old volcanic location that has water building up in the side and eventually the weight will collapse the side and when that happens, nearly world-wide devistation will occur.

Perhaps a 'bot like this could be dropped into crevices to check on the state of suck locations, maybe even develop ones that can help repair or even pump out water.

Just thinking aloud, so to speak.

That sounds like one of the Canary Islands volcanoes.

That's right, and it looks like megatsunami is the right word. I remember reading about the one that occurred in Alaska, plus the threat from the Canary Islands. There's a wikipedia article that covers those and other aspects.
