Name This Horror Movie

I have this childhood memory of a 1980s horror movie and I cannot for the life of me figure out what damn flick it is!

All I remember is that it's a goofy horror movie, not really scary, and it's about a creepy big mansion that hides a portal to a hell dimension or something. And I'm pretty sure there's an undead immortal cowboy who guards the portal?

House II: The Second Story.

Probably the worst title ever.

However, it is not the worst movie Bill Maher did.

Could it be House or one of its sequels? I remember them getting goofier with each subsequent sequel. There were 4 or 5 of them.

There were three of them. Amusingly enough, the third movie was titled House IV. (An unrelated film was released as House III over seas.)

Hmm, I think it is House 2! Thanks! And it's on Netflix, must watch it tomorrow!

Wasn't House II more of a comedy film than a horror film? It's been ages since I last saw it, but I don't recall it being particularly scary.

House 2 is a great little film.

We tried watching House but it was pretty terrible Now we're starting House 2 and this is the movie I was talking about! So amazing to watch something you only have hazy childhood memories of and to have it snap into definition like that!

yes, he was an exterminator who was also an adventurer!
