Name That Trek

There's just so many things it could be, if we get another hint could we narrow it down to a series?

What happened?

Actually I crunched the scripts blindly for this quote (with question mark), which returned the following numbers:

Movies x 6
DS9 x 82
ENT x 36
TNG x 79
TOS x 58
VOY x 96

I think we might need a good bit more context on this one than even the series name.

***** GOALMOUTH SCRAMBLE *****

So sorry, T'Ressa Dax - under the 48 hour time constraint with no further clarification, this one reverts to the "Pedantic Waste of Everyone's Time" rule. You are of course most welcome to keep playing the game. :)

The next clue is open to the next player who kicks it in!

Sorry! I'll try to come up with a better one next time. IF anyone's wondering it was from Far Beyond the Stars.

My guess, The Icarus Factor?

It's good to make it tough, the issue for me was that it's something that's said so many times throughout the various series, we could've guessed 100 times, been correct that the line was said in that episode, but still have been wrong. I applaud the effort to make it tricky, it's not easy to do.

As for the current clue, I'm going to guess it's Riker talking to Klag about his refusal to see his father in "A Matter of Honor."

Whew! Ok, I combed through as many prisoner and hostage scenarios in all the series as I could remember; but failed to confirm my every guess! I very much doubted this line was said for comedic relief. After much wrangling, it led me to (halfway) eliminate pretty much everything but DS9 and TAS. Then I started thinking about Section 31 and Julian - and that led to the episode where he and Miles were going to be erased after helping destroy the Keilerun's Harvester weapon. They wanted to wipe all knowledge of the weapon from history. I believe the line was uttered by Sisko just before he rescued Bashir and O'Brien from the Keilerun in Armageddon Game?

No to both guesses.
Keep trying. Here is a clue:

This line was uttered only twice in all of Star Trek up to Nemesis. Once, more relating to the main plot conflict (A), and once in a small exchange leading to the next scene (B). My clue is the more central one (A); but if you happen across the minor one (B) I will also count that as a win.

More clues coming later if needed.

You're hitting the right tone, but haven't hit the right situation yet. Not them, but right century (for A). Wrong Quadrant.
