Name That STAR TREK Episode...

@Phaser Two
Day of the Dove goes one further: It implies a second ladder in Engineering.
Yep, sure does. If you map out the possible angles of from all the combatants' eyes in Engineering, plus the possible location of the camera angle, the *entity is floating about 8 feet off the deck about two feet in front of the ladder that is on the normally hidden other side of Engineering. I have it crudely mapped out on my computer, but I haven't figured out on how to get it loaded up on this site, yet. I need to look into ImgBB one of these days.

Does it, BK? How?
The ladder position, as we all know, is shown in this shot from Is There in Truth No Beauty? Adjoining the engine grate.

The entity is at the top of the ladder, as shown here.

So where then is Kirk, et al, looking?

IIRC, @blssdwlf was the poster that first made me aware back in the day when he was working on his TOS Enterprise.

First attempt with IMGBB. Is it working for anyone? I envision a rotated exact duplicate of the normally visible side. Note: no EMM in this room. The EMM must be in another room. Also, the pipe structure faces to the front of the ship. Probably located center line of ship secondary hull forward toward the deflector dish. Maybe it is the deflector dish and saucer systems energizer.

@Henoch I can see the diagram, though I disagree with your assessment of the entity's location and the placement of the ladder. Should be on the forward bulkhead because that a) is where Kirk and Co are looking and b) the entity's exit is now to starboard, matching the external shot of it leaving the secondary hull.

Ah, yes. Thank you both! Like BK I remember those posts about the U.S.S. Enterprise (no bloody A, B, C or D :D) build. I think they predate my joining so I must have found them through an archive search. Awesome stuff.

You've also both reminded me that I love how that scene in Engineering is blocked, because it uses unfamiliar angles and gives the impression of a larger room as a result. Of course they did that on the bridge from time to time as well, for similar if not exactly identical reasons. And in my favorite set of DS9 episodes, the Homecoming/Circle/Siege trilogy, they shot Ops completely differently when the Bajoran militia took it over.

Maybe not the thread for this discussion, we should keep playing the game, but, if you mean Kirk and Spock are looking forward toward the wall behind the Klingons as the forward bulkhead, then they are looking that way off to a slight angle. Should we start a new thread?

Yes, please start a new thread. It's fascinating stuff and many others will be interested.

And did I get it right with DotD?:biggrin::beer::whistle:

Nope on DotD. But it was fun.
Nope on Ultimate Computer.

Recap due to the DotD hijack:
Summary:
1st Clue: Dead man walking? :wtf:
2nd Clue: The ship had two of these?

- Yes, the debate on many engine rooms, continues.
3rd Clue: Evil destroys Good.
- ...for the enemy is all around.
- ...but savage all the same.
4th Clue: Good shall always destroy evil.
- Bible
- Angels and Devils. &

Nope, not Private Little War.

5th and Final Clue: Sam Cogley would not approve of this trial based on the document of concern.

I don't think you can give not guesses, so, I assume this is really a guess. You are correct in your assessment, it is not Court Martial.

We have a tie? Yes it is the Omega Glory. Odona came in at #895 v.s.#896 and one minute earlier, so, Odona Kirk, you are the winner. You are up.

Omega Glory:
1st Clue: Dead man walking?
one of two answers. Even though Lt. Leslie died in Obsession, he appeared at the end of the episode to arrest Capt. Tracey. Other choice would be Lt. Galloway; he was disintegrated by Tracey, but shows up later in Season 3 guarding Janice Lester's room.
2nd Clue: The ship had two of these? Kirk calls out over the Exeter's ship-wide speaker system if there is anyone on board from the Engineering Room, then we see a scene of an empty Engineering Room sans Kirk, McCoy and dead men uniforms which were draped everywhere in Engineering.
- Yes, the debate on many engine rooms, continues.
3rd Clue: Evil destroys Good. The Yangs were called savages, wild men and they had the Kohm village surrounded. The Yangs were the bad (evil) guys up to this point of the story. Their final assault defeats the good, peaceful Kohms.
- ...for the enemy is all around.
- ...but savage all the same.
4th Clue: Good shall always destroy evil. The Yang holy book is the Bible and the shaman/priest declares,"Good shall always destroy evil." A picture of the devil in the Bible looks like Spock who Tracey says is the servant of Kirk.
- Bible
- Angels and Devils.
5th and Final Clue: Sam Cogley would not approve of this trial based on the document of concern. Cogley declared in Kirk's court martial: "The Bible, the Code of Hammurabi and of Justinian, Magna Carta, the Constitution of the United States, Fundamental Declarations of the Martian colonies, the Statutes of Alpha Three. Gentlemen, these documents all speak of rights. Rights of the accused to a trial by his peers, to be represented by counsel, the rights of cross-examination, but most importantly, the right to be confronted by the witnesses against him, a right to which my client has been denied." The Yang's most holy book is the Constitution of the United States, yet, their trial is system is trial by combat where they pit Tracey against Kirk tied together with one knife in the floor.

Aaaaaagh. Of course. OG is probably the TOS ep I have seen the fewest times, but no excuse. I know about the engine room paradox and should have gotten it. Nice clues, man.
