Name That STAR TREK Episode...

I'm so glad to see someone else really stumping people! And no, I have no new guess. Henoch, you're good at this game. :techman:

We have a WINNER! You are up.

Here's the explanation of the clues and sub-clues:
- 1966 (Miri aired in 1966)
1st Clue: Lt. Marla McGivers was on this world. (Actress Madlyn Rhue had an one line bit part in "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" referring to the diseased world that affected the entire population of adults in which they first went Mad, then died.)
- "It's a crazy world we live in." (ditto)
- look for one degree of separation for other worldly shows (Rhue=MMMM World)
2nd Clue: What's a little betrayal among friends? (Kirk made friends with Miri, then Miri betrayed Kirk out of jealousy.)
3rd Clue: Look around and you'll see ourselves. (They find and land on an identical Earth cicra 1960.)
- I think you all are homing in on it. (They find the planet by homing in on an old radio transmission.)
4th Clue: Kirk has a head for this game. :brickwall: (Bonk! Bonk!)
- I'm a sneaky little rascal! ("Rascal" is defined as a mischievous child; remember the "Little Rascals" TV show. We have a whole planet of them.)
Last and Final Clue: The Captain got caught checking out the Yeoman's legs? (Rand told Kirk to “Look at my legs.” Kirk checked out the disease spots on Rand then hugged her. Miri was eavesdropping and got jealous.)

Thanks. I have to say, that was brutal.
No foolie. I guess my first clue was very hard, and the rest played too hard on word games. Next time, "No blah, blah, blah!"

I'm not guessing yet, I too exhausted from the last one to accidentally hit it again. But I'm watching. Thanks for playing.

What are you talking about? It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is about a bunch of people racing to recover $350,000 stolen 15 years before the movie starts and buried under a W in the fictional Santa Rosita State Park near the Mexican border. As far as I remember, no one dies in the movie except the convict who stole the money originally and set the whole mad dash in motion.

Damn, that was fast. Correct. To explain...

Someone frantically searches a database... Spock says the Valiant's captain was frantic in his search on ESP, according to the tapes.

Your turn.

Sorry, poor sentence structure. I only thing I meant for the reader to take away from the line was the words, "Mad World". The rest of the description obviously applies to Miri's World. I'm still being graded in English after all these years.

As for the movie, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, it is one of my favorite comedies. It was a who's who of stars and guest stars of the time. I think every comedian in Hollywood was in it. Jimmy Durante kicked the bucket. :guffaw:

Thank you!

First clue:

We discover a new element that was never mentioned before or after this episode.

By Any Other Name - The Kevins devices are shielded in a impossible-to-breach material that Spock has never seen before. And despite the obvious uses for such a material, and the availability of the Kelvins, who want a robot ship sent back home, we never see its like again.

Devil in the Dark is mining pergium, along with uranium, sirium (possible misspelling of cerium, or it is the new element) and platinum, whatever you want. Pergium is another new element, but it is mentioned later in ENT, DS9 and VOY. It is not mentioned again in TOS. Is this a tricky clue?

Great guesses! But no...

Next clue:

Turns out that element exists in reality, under a different name though and has different properties. I guess its discoverer wasn't a fan of StarTrek and/or didn't notice that mention, otherwise, he would have probably given it the same name. (that's some longwinded clue!)
